Heres a very quick update for the few hours that I have been playing with it...
It looks like a much better unit then my old pansat2500a.
Its has alot of things in the menu and yeaaaa can get lost lol...
I am glad that it gives me AUDIO on all the stations on G10r,not like the pansat...
I think the Outdoor channel looks great on HD.
And all the satellittes are up to date not like the pansat when I got it....
It has a Few different types of Blind scan and it works very well and very fast on C band not like the pansat 2500a that I had,The pansat took all day to scan the satellite for the stations....
The only down fall so far is shutting the unit off.
I am having problems shutting the unit off every now and then with the REMOTE but I have to go to the receiver to shut it off.Maybe I am screwing something up.
Will update more when I get used to it within the next few days....
For the $429 I think it was not a bad deal.......JT

Don't have to explain anything to someone that thinks he knows whats going on(but then again he does not know a thing}.................
Sent back the Sonicview 2 days ago for a replacement,I was having problems
with the USB card reader in the receiver. For some reason it didnot reconized
the card....Hope to have the replacement by the end of next week...
Yep it does blow having to go back and use my pansat2500a for the next few days lol....
Only thing I can say is that on C band it will take a min or two and on KU band it takes about the same time.Thats on G10R............
Didnot want to play with it anymore untill I get a new 8000HD......JT
F
yeah..I don't know a thing. Unfortunate for you, one thing I know certainly is those using 8psk adapter are stealing program for Dish Network...hehehhe..:)
Is that correct or not?

Unless they really want to watch the HD demo channel 24/7 that would be correct :)

Nooooo why would anyone want to steal anything from DN?
If I ever want to upgrade my receiver,I don't think Dish has a say what I do to it.
I just installed a DSS LNBF w/Scalar Ring for my Corotor 2 today as a UPGRADE.
Maybe DN will come after me because I installed a DSS LNBF w/Scalar Ring
with my Sonicview 8000 with my 10 footdish lol?

I am glad to see many more are buying HD receivers,I am sure we will be getting
lots of input on all the receivers.....JT

Dish may not be we sure as hell do here. As been mentioned here many many times we do not condone nor allow people to talk about stealing here at Satelliteguys. Plain and simple.

Lets quit with the crap here and get it back on topic. The fact remains, why would someone want the adapter to watch the HD demo channel if they are in deed legal? I've seen the demo channel on my 811 and yeah its cool...for a 1/2 hour then it starts repeating. Argue it all you want, but if someone buys the adapter most likely they are not getting it for just the HD demo channel....plain and simple.

Well it looks like our friend Johnny won't be coming back anytime soon. A few of us figured he was on thin ice and sure enough he is. If you read his posts he keeps dodging the simple question

He was dumb enough to post a link to a hack site which I promptly removed because as I said in that post
removed the link....

cripes. What part of we don't want anything to do with people who steal can't some people understand? Yeah they have sooo much info (what is with the extra letters in words...what are you 12?) and it is all for the hacker WHICH WE DO NOT CONDONE HERE
Cripes I went there and the first topic is "Keys" which I assume aint the ones in my pocket

WE DO NOT CONDONE STEALING HERE plain and simple. Do not link to other sites like that

which he replied
Iceberg your right lets get off of stealing................

but he has since posted things that just didnt add up. Here is one of them
But you do have people on here think the lawyers are going to come after us lol, what fools.......
Its funny many people think the lawyers are coming after us.......

Why would he say that if he was legal?

but back to that website he posted. It was still logged in my cache. So for fun I went to it again and low and behold, looks like old Johnny is indeed stealing

hmm...lets see some of johnny's posts, shall we? (by the way he used the same user name there) (some of the info in the post removed for obvious reasons)

I will be getting my Sonicview 8000 sometime this week in the mail.
My question I have been trying to do some homework and learn abit with these programs without annoying you good people....

I have downloaded (a program to steal) there are all BLANKS to put Numbers in?
And when I hit GETKEYS it looks like the keys just pop up?Are these the UPDATED keys?I see that the dates are about a week old.And if these are the keys I would think this program would be the greatest....

How would I put these Keys into My Sonicview8000HD???
Is there a program already inside the 8000HD where I can just type them in?
Or do I have to download them into the 8000HD?
And if I have to download the (program) or just the numbers ,how would I do that?
I would like to put them if I have to on a USB Flashcard and then just put it into my 80000HD

Thanks for your time and I am still learning.....JohnnyT

UPDATE
It seems that brings up the lastest Keys
for both DN and BEV.
Ok I am starting to learn abit...
Where in the Sonicview8000HD willl I type in the keys?
Or do I have to download Software to put the keys in?
This is starting to get fun lol.....Thanks to all of you good folks...JohnnyT

hmm...keys? Last I checked the only keys we talk about here are ones we lose and let us into our house & operate the vehicle

I am glad that there is something in the Menu where I can put
the keys if I need them?

Hi where in the sonicviews menu can I change the KEYS.....

One person on another site says that you can only pickup
the PREVIEW station on Nimiq 2 without having to buy other hardware?(think they are useing the coolsat8000}
I will get the 8PSK Hd Module one of these days but as of now I just want
a few freebees lol.
hmm..lets see. That one person was either me or digiblur since we both mentioned it.

So see Johnny...we all knew you were a hacker but we just wanted to play you for a while and let you dig yourself deeper into a hole.

So one last time let me say it
WE DO NOT CONDONE STEALING HERE

buh bye

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

LOL. It depends if the person saw it during the years when they were actually still available which is 1968 to 1983 meaning the person could be 43-58 years old or they can even be a few years old if they learned to read and write at a young age and actually saw a telephone with that label somewhere recently just like even here in San Francisco, payphone still exist physically in public places but whether they can be used or not is a different issue. It still looks like this even today:

I opened my Radio Shack in Sept 1984 and right about that time they did the whole deregulation thing with the phone companies. I bought TONS of those phones that had been refurbished with a new outer shell. You could throw one of those out of a 3 story high window and it would still work.
That was an interesting time in history. I would have older customers come in and ask about phones.....they were terrified that they were going to get into trouble hooking up a second phone without the phone company knowing about it. One of the funniest episodes of WKRP was the one where Johnny thought the cops were showing up because they had an unregistered phone. I guess younger folks can't conceive of a time when you were limited to the number of phones you could have in your house....and limited to the length of the cord 🤣

That's one of those songs that hits a little too close to home for me. I like the song but just can't listen to it. It's kinda like that song "Daddy never was the Cadillac kind".....reminds me too much of my Grandfather who died Feb 18, 1995.

My OTA is not working anymore. This started after the latest update. I have the OTA dongle with a OTA antenna that I've been using for years. My hopper does not recognize the dongle anymore and when I go to the OTA setting, it has a screen that says to plug a dongle into the USB. I tried unplugging and plugging back, in the same usb port and other ports. The Hopper does not recognize it. Anyone have same issue?

Did you people having this issue contact Brittany yet? Shes trying to keep track of things and it would be good for you to contact her as maybe she can get this somewhere and get fixed.

Now while unofficial, I am hearing this issue wasn't caused by DISH's software team, but was caused by a chipset driver update that seemes to have hosed some older USB devices. If this is indeed the case I can see why DISH didn't know and why they are slow in fixing it as they need the chipset company to fix its drivers and release them to DISH so they can be pushed out to all.

DISH does not hate you guys nor do they want you to buy new USB dongles. I am rather sure they didn't even know this was an issue until they saw it posted.

Again contact Brittany if you are having this issue, so she has your info and hopefully she can do something for you to keep you happy. :)

Thanks, but until they do, can't Dish just revert to the old driver that worked? Then test the new driver when delivered,d before pushing it again.

But then what does an old CIO know! I've only reamed quite a few buttholes from my people that didn't do that! ;)

They can absolutely put the old driver back if they wanted. This is an embedded software environment in which they have total control. All they have to do if build a new version of firmware with the old OTA driver and test it of course. They just don't want to spend the resources doing so. If they are not going to continue supporting the single tuner adapter, then they have to say so.

Unless of course they didn't keep a copy of the old drivers and can no longer get it. Then there is always the their support for the product is EOL after a x amount of time so it will make the consumer have to buy the current product offering.

No updates but if you can get DISH Technical Operations to roll you back to H710 or earlier even though H708 would be best because it also eliminates another problem like in this comment, you will also no longer have the problem as long as you don't update manually or forced to any new version until the problem is fixed as the problem started in H711 and still exist in H712 and H713.

Installed an off-air antenna a couple days ago for a customer who had just cancelled his Dish service. He had a dual off-air adapter and gave it to me. Cool. I'll keep it on the truck....might come in handy. Got to admit I don't watch anything as far as live tv goes anymore. Even if we have severe weather, our local channels will have a live feed on Youtube.

In other news, it was announced that the software fix for the two tin cans and a string will not be forthcoming. A hardware fix is required. However, that fix will let you receive stations from a gazillion miles away.

Truck roll charges may apply. Two year commitment required.

DEATH TO NEXGEN!

17 years ago the US turned off analog OTA signals in favor of digital broadcasting. Now the push is ATSC 3 "Nextgen TV". But nobody seems to be able to agree on DRM implementation protocols. People don't want to hook their TV up to the internet in order to watch over the air TV. At least I don't. With all the data they collect about your viewing habits the box should be given away at no cost.

It's dead, they just don't know it yet. They killed it by forcing DRM on it, and that TOTALLY botched implementing it.

There is absolutely NO compelling reason for anybody to switch to ATSC3.0. They only want it as a total and complete money grab.
