I live in Charleston, SC. I will be tailgating in Columbia, SC most of the time with a few away games added in. My question is: What equipment do I need to get off eBay in order to get what we need at Tailgate? We will want the local and ESPN and such.
Since I will have my own equipment, do I have to sign a contract? How much will it be a month and what package do I get?
I will be running an lCD TV from a generator or inverter. I am assuming I will need a dish (mounted on the top of my Tahoe or a Tripod), a reciever with remote, and thats it right?????

I've been tailgating for a few years with satellite TV at the Brice and the last few have been with HD. This year will be with the 5LNB Slimline dish, an OTA antenna until Columbia gets their locals in HD over satellite, an H20 receiver, and a 24" widescreen HD monitor.
We're powering all of our stuff off an inverter for the time being because like someone already pointed out if you get a generator, don't get a cheap one... don't be that person with the loud, stinky generator next to others.
Get a Honda eu1000i (or whatever the new model is that recently replaced it). Otherwise, just get a 400W+ inverter and 2 or 3 Group 27 deep cycle marine batteries. Don't use regular car batteries, they are damaged much worse when they're drained down unlike the deep cycle ones.
If you have a round 18" dish or one of the triple LNB oval dishes, then a chain link fence pole works perfectly. Combine that with an antenna mount tripod (got mine from Radio Shack) and it's easy to set up. If you get one of the new 5LNB dishes for the MPEG4 HD stuff, that requires a 2" outer diameter pole - hard to find locally, get one from the DirecTV guy like I did.

Sharpie... on my setup the dish is clearly pointing up but not grossly (43degrees for Cincinnati) That sort of surprises me that you would be so different because we're about the same latitude. What REALLY helps me with my D11 receiver is to go to the audible signal screen. If your rec'vr is getting NO signal it will "stick" on the searching page. You have to hit Exit and then menu. Nav to the setup, and the View Signal Strength, cursor to the bottom and select Signal Meters. Put the TV close enough that you can hear the 'feedback' audible signal. You can then just literally start rotating the dish and even changing elevation. You'll eventually get a "hit" and the meter will jump. Start locking it in and then tighten all your fittings. But definitely the arm holding the lnb should have an upward pitch. The adjusting bolt on the dish should be to the right of the 38 engraved on the side... not the middle of it. If you're still having trouble I'll send a pic of mine set to 43 for reference. Keep at it.. once you get it (and you will) it'll all be worth it. I was at a college game last weekend. We had ESPN, B10, and locals. Great!

HI... Saw that you were going to take the 5lnb tailgating and would love to hear how difficult it was to align. The simple 1 (or 2) LNB dish is so darn easy, I don't know if I want to fool with pulling my H20 and having to get the larger post. I mount mine on top of the RV and I can lock it in without a compass or anything now. BTW, sorry about Vanderbilt... we have them this week.

Unless the specific product or its packaging is known at the time of weighing, estimating the tare weight for a PoS system is a tall order.
I'm pretty sure that produce bags can't get any thinner.
You certainly don't want to put unbagged produce on a belt, scale, or in a clerk's hands (gloved or not).
I would think that all the packaging would already be accounted for ... they weigh the container, subtract that from the scale, then add the product , so its weighing the Product onlyUnless the specific product or its packaging is known at the time of weighing, estimating the tare weight for a PoS system is a tall order.

In order to participate in any Cutting Edge testing, you must sign a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Attached are a .docx (Microsoft Word) and PDF version of the latest DirecTV NDA. I found it easiest to complete the .docx version then paste a photo or scan image of my signature, cropped closely to just the signature into it as a picture. Then set Word to wrap text around the picture so that the picture follows the text "Signature".
People who have better PDF tools than I do may prefer that version.
When you apply for any Cutting Edge testing, you will be told how to send the signed copy.

Hmmm, I'm not seeing anything like those events in our Hopper 3 guide for tonight or Saturday.
I went into the Tools menu and requested a Guide Update. I'll try looking at it after the update completes.
edit — I now have the 148-01 4KFox events for Saturday, but not anything for 148-02 or 148-03 which don't even show as available channels. I do have 148-04 4KUSA.

I know HipKat said that they were working on conversions but we got the official news yesterday right from Dish that starting next month all DMA's will be on the western arc, and all customers will be assigned to that. That's gonna mean a lot of customers around here aren't gonna get Dish unless there are exceptions. Too many mountains and trees.
