You can catch the west coast one in a few hours, it's 7pm for me.

And the Rockford Files ended with a woman laying in bed listening to a police radio, they were doing all the 1-Adam whatever stuff and then the "with chains and knives" like the Adam-12 intro.

Following that is the very first episode ever of Adam-12 where Malloy (hunk :p) and Reed (hunk :p) become partners after Malloy's partner is KIA.

Seems to be all narration so far. Pretty cool!

"Adam-12" Log 1: The Impossible Mission (1968) - Plot Summary

Pete Malloy, a six year veteran of the L.A.P.D., plans on quitting the force after his partner is killed. However, prior to his handing in his resignation he is to break in rookie officer Jim Reed on his first night on the force. During what would be the first patrol of their seven year partnership the two officers deal with a hysterical woman who thinks her son's salamander has crawled down the back of her dress, a pair of liquor store robbers, a baby in distress and a group of trigger happy teenagers.

Enjoy! ;)

ok, I'm on a pc now.

I watched Sea Chase.

I'm sorry to say that I am still not a fan of war movies. I grew up in a household where Dad watched that stuff *all* *the* *time*... Needless to say, he's a dyed in the wool, right wing nut.

First off, the movie was dripping with testosterone. Angry, muscled up men pushing, shoving, mouthing off. None at all making any attempt what so ever to get along with one another.

As soon as I heard the nazi stuff on radio they were listening to, I lost interest in it.

Lana Turner, as usual, was manhandled and bossed around.

John Wayne, well, he's a manly man. And Sheriff Dillion? WOW! First time I ever saw him with his shirt off!

Some of the other men? Eh, not so hot.

All the fighting and squabbling and plotting was a big turn off.

The bad guy that murdered the stranded men on that island? He sucked. Bad man. Very bad man. I was glad to see him get popped in the mouth but he really deserved much more. But then again, I do not approve of violence.

I guess about half way through or so I found I couldn't follow the plot any more. It was boring and I simply could not focus on the movie any more. I just sort of sat there and it went in one eyeball and out the other. It zombified me I guess you could say. It just stopped registering in my brain at some point and I simply sat through till it ejected out of the player. :sleeo :sleeo :sleeo :sleeo

I did notice that Wayne seemed to be a decent man, the most decent of the lot.
I mean like he was trying to do the right thing all the way through and had a rough time dealing with rowdy men who wanted to overthrow him and take over.
And he was *pi:censored:ed off big times about the murderer guy.

The kid that killed himself, I think that's actually the point where I went into zombie mode. I didn't need to see that. I don't like to see that. I'm very sensitive on that particular subject.

The end was totally confusing to me. The sinking ship and all, I don't at all get that part. Again, I was in zombie mode by then.

Marshall Dillion without a shirt on? That was the *best* I've ever seen him. (I hate westerns)

Oh, and your list of other movies. Hmm.

I have heard of High Noon but I don't think I've ever seen it.

"Meet John Doe, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence, A Man to Remember, The Glenn Miller Story (that's one of my all time favorites), Heaven Knows Mr. Allison"

Never heard of any of those and never seen them, to the best of my knowledge unless maybe Dad watched them when I was little. I do not know.

The Bridge on the River Kwai and the African Queen, I have seen both of those. The bridge movie, that was so totally depressing I vowed never to see it again. The African Queen, I simply didn't care to sit through it. An alcoholic, dirty old man in a dirty old boat and the constant bickering just wasn't my idea of entertainment.
That was another unmemorable movie for me. I'm not a Bogart fan.

I also saw that movie with Bogart, the "Play it again Sam" movie. I don't remember the name of it. I didn't care for it either.

I assume that a constant consumption of war movies is a staple of the male entertainment diet. It was with my dad and most men I have ever met.
Men like fighting, killing, destruction, things blowing up, monstrous fireballs, fast driving, crashes, rockets, guns, guns and more guns and pretty, young women in skimpy outfits.

I watched that STUPID movie, Transformers with my grandson and I was 101% turned off by it. What's with all the silly machines that flip and fold and mutate into various other machines? That's so totally impossible and just stupid. Death and destruction was the bottom line of that stupid movie.

I would have rather that he not had seen that movie. But his mother insisted I take him to see it. Ugh. I wanted to walk out.

When my son was little, he used to watch Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles.
During the show he would sit perfectly still and quiet. He would get MAD if anyone talked during his show and tell you off, fast.

When a commercial break would come on, he would go insane and start beating up his little sister, throwing couch cushions around the room, jumping and kicking and just go crazy. He was acting out what he saw in the tv shows. And he acted it out on his sister. I didn't like him watching that nonsense but guess who sat and watched it with him? His dad.

Thank goodness he outgrew that stuff and turned out to be a good young man despite his radical childhood.

I really don't understand the male attraction to violence and destruction. "Do it my way or we'll kill you and blow everything up!" is how most movies go.
And in the real world that's mostly how it goes too. Talk trash, point guns and if talking trash fails, pull the trigger and shoot it out. One on one and country on country.

I am against war, all wars, for whatever reason. People need to leave people be.
Stop bossing people around, stop threatening people with destruction if they don't worship you. Stop threatening people if they don't accept your god. Stop threatening people if they don't chew bubble gum the way you do. Please.

Live and let live. It's easy. I've heard the term, "Agree to disagree" then walk off. Go back to your country, your house and do your own thing, as long as it hurts no one else.

I can't and won't apologise for my lack of enthusiasm for the genre of entertainment that focuses on war, fighting, destruction, death, killing, violence, etc..

And really, there's just far too much of that stuff out there. Men are roughly half the planet's population (I think) but entertainment is dominated by malecentric themes by probably 90% if not more. Yes, I know it's a man's world and men run the world and all that but ya'll also run and control movies, tv and the remote control at home. There's so very little out there for our half of the planet. So very little. :(

On the FTA satellite it's the same thing. Look at the RTV lineup, 99% the shows are malecentric. The one sort of exception is Alfred Hitchcock. His show varies from time to time on the characters.

I have never had any luck finding "I Love Lucy" on that tele-culture channel.
ION is like either infomercials or religious stuff everytime I tune to it. I don't bother anymore. The History channel is usually stupid stuff, like UFO's, Big Foot and Nostradomus nonsense. What has that to do with history? Please. I do like their shows on the universe and how the earth was made, those are interesting.

PBS (I think there are 6 PBS channels) almost always has something interesting to watch. Not always but usually.

Really, that's about all I get. I get the local OTA channels but most of that is brain dead sitcoms for the shallow thinker.

There is one sitcom I miss a lot, Grace under Fire. Brett Butler, oh I love her! Her deadpan delivery was always so on the mark and usually oh so true. She was truly a very, very funny woman. I haven't seen her on tv in ages.
Rosanne is ok but more crude than Grace. Not a very classy woman. Still, she has her funny moments. I was getting that on TV Land for a bit just before they killed that. And I liked the Beverly Hillbillies a lot. Granny was so darn funny! Sigh. All gone now.

One of the local OTA's is CW and they play Rosanne sometimes. Oh, and Married with Children. I'm not much of a fan of that show, Al treats Peg so badly. The whole family is so hateful towards one another. I do love Peg's hair though, I keep swearing that one day I'm going to do a Peg Bundy hairdo, just for fun. I've got the red, I just need it to be a bit longer, that's a LOT of teasing going on there. :D Yes, I know, that's silly but you have to have a little fun now and then.

My friend has cable and she gets like all the women's channels, Lifetime, WE, Oxygen, etc. But to get all the women's channels you have to subscribe to the most expensive channel package, they put those at the top of the digital package and you have to shell out the big gold to get them. :deal: And you also have to subsidise a truckload of crummy channels that you hate and will never watch and many of them you may even object to. So I should pay for channels I object to and refuse to watch? I don't think so.

Because you can't chose only the channels you want and pay for only those channels, I refuse to play their game. I could live with say a dozen channels of my choosing but they refuse to allow me that option. Pay TV is a scam and a rip off. :deal:
You do NOT get what you pay for. You pay BIG $$$ for only a scant few watchable channels, the rest going unwatched forever.

There really is not much on tv or in movies that I can call "entertainment".
I don't really watch that much tv to be honest. The tv is almost always on, for background noise. I'm usually on the phone with my BFF or online chatting with friends. I rarely actually sit and actually watch anything. I like Leave it to Beaver but often I miss it in the mornings. I like Adam-12 and Dragnet but usually have them turned down, that's when my best friend *always* calls to chat. Bless her heart, I just can't find it in me to ask her not to call in the afternoons so I can watch a tv show. I usually have to try and catch it at the west coast repeat a few hours later. Her and I, we kill a LOT of cell phone batteries. I ended up buying a battery cradle for my iPhone so I can make it through the day. iPhones have terrible battery life BTW. She doesn't watch tv at all. They have satellite but she just doesn't watch it, ever. Her boyfriend watches the History channel all the time, she just ignores it, tunes it out. I agree with her, very little of value shows on the History channel.

I wish there were more free GOOD channels on satellite but America is too commercialised, too profit driven, too greedy, to capitalistic to allow anyone to get anything for free. Goddess forbid, one dare not even THINK of using the word "free" in conversation, how totally un-American, how alien a concept, "free"..

In socialist Europe there are lots of free things. Lots of free tv channels for people.
Must be rough, living in a socialist society like they do in Europe. I wonder if we *might* get some free channels soon, what with our new socialist president? I mean everyone says he's a socialist so I guess we should be getting all sorts of free things soon.

Ok, I'm tired, I've ranted on enough. I'm sure you think I'm a total kook by now. That's cool, I know I'm a bit kooky, I don't really go with the flow, I sort of stepped out of the mainstream and decided I wanted to be a free thinker. !protest

I'm sorry to disappoint but I just couldn't get into the movie, those sort of movies just don't do anything for me. Please, just remember, men and women see things very differently, we have different priorities and interests. All the wishing and hoping in the world won't change my lack of interest in war things. I'm against war, it's a huge turn off for me. I grew up in a household where I was exposed to a LOT of that, Dad controlled the tv when I was little and he still does to this day. That's why Mom watches tv in the bedroom and Dad watches tv in the living room. I really saw more of that stuff than I wish I had.

At this point I think I will say goodnight and get some much needed rest. Tomorrow I have chores to do that I will not enjoy.

Nite nite all.. :sleeo :sleeo :sleeo

Dee,

Shucks, I had hoped that you would have liked the movie better. Oh well, that's alright. At least you got to see Marshall Dillon with his shirt off! Ha Ha! :)

I think that you did catch the idea that inspired me about the movie, and that was John Wayne's character throughout.

He was always in the middle of something bad. Fighting Nazis on one side, running from the British Navy on the other and trying to squelch a mutiny among his own men. But, all along, maintaining dignity and being a humanitarian. Like when he gave the old cook the job of lookout, to make him feel that he was just as important as any other crew member. Or when he recalled the names of the two dead soldiers from long ago who were buried on that island. Or when he set the injured men and the dead crewmember out on the liferaft so that they could be cared for properly, as well as being a decoy.

Yes, I think you picked up on that, but the rest of the movie wasn't a turn on for you. Sorry that it wasn't.

You might like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington or Meet John Doe better. No war stuff in there.

Dee Ann, why not invest in a DVD Burner, they are not very expensive now, Wal*Mart (or as they now portray themselves ... Walmart*) has several well under the $100 price range.

Set up timers, both on your Sat receiver and on the burner, then you can watch the programs YOU want to watch, WHEN you want to watch them?

I buy blank DVD-R discs very cheaply, and even cheaper if you buy then in the 100 packs, about $30 per 100 at Sams Club, Costco, Frys, places like that.

Hope this helps.

That's cool Dee_Ann. I don't think less of you for voicing your opinion.

It would be boring if everyone was the same.

However, I don't see how Peg Bundy treats Al nicely either... That kind of entertainment is not everyone's cup of tea... But in the end, their make believe family sticks together in their own way...

By the way, that was not the first episode or pilot episode of Adam-12.

Well actually, I have a pc home entertainment center. There's two tuner cards in it, one for satellite and one for local OTA. (I learned that OTA thing from you guys)

The pc can record and save videos on a schedule, the only problem is is that it does not at all show me what is coming up in the future nor does it even tell me what's playing right now, unlike my new HDTV which does. The HDTV doesn't record though. LOL..

So IF I know in advance that something is coming on, I can schedule it to record into the pc. I do have it scheduled to switch channels all through the day to *view* programs that I know come on at the same time every day. Like Leave it to Beaver, The Morning Show (RTV), Adam-12, etc... All day, every day it automatically changes channels by itself to the shows I like.

My roomie was tripping out about it for a few weeks, she thought the TV was possessed. I tried to explain to her it was automated but she didn't get it.

So anyway, I can play back the things I record but it's kinda clunky to do. I really hate Windows Media Center and it hates me back. I've tried all sorts of media center programs but never really found ONE that does everything. Oh well.

But DVD's? I haven't made any in ages. Too expensive. I did the match and figured out, I think, that it's cheaper just to put a new drive in the pc when the old one fills up, set the old one aside and deal with it in the future someday. Or maybe they will make a super big like ziggabyte drive and I can copy ALL of everything into one big fat drive. :D

Oh, I know Peg is equally mean to Al. It's a little circle of meanness they have going on there.

On the Adam-12, I swear I thought that was the very first one ever.
But you're 100% correct! I double checked on IMDB and that was actually Season 3, episode 8.

Season 3, Episode 8: Elegy for a Pig

Original Air Date—21 November 1970
In this documentary style episode, Malloy narrates the story of his best friend Officer Tom Porter, who was killed chasing a suspect. He talks about how he and Porter applied for and attended the academy together and their history as members of the force. It also looks at Porter's personal life including how he met his wife Marge on the day he applied for the force and the birth of his two children.

Well darn. And I thought I was going to be able to catch the series from the very, very beginning. Oh well... I stand corrected. And red faced.. LOL :o

Thank you! :)

Well now that you point those things out, yes, I see what you are talking about now.
I just sort of watched it with a glazed over, glassy eyed zombie stare. Much of it went right over my head. Maybe because I was looking for some secret hidden message in it or something. I just didn't know what I was supposed to be looking for. Maybe I'll watch it again in the bedroom on the big tv where there's no distractions and the screen is waaaay nicer.

I'll ask Dad about the other two movies next week, he may have them as well since my folks collect vintage movies.

Thanks! :)

It seems you have the basics, but to know WHAT and WHEN something is coming on, why not look into TYTANTV, their schedual is as good and reliable as anything I have found, and you can set it to your favorite programs, plus the locals. You can customize it to only the stations you watch, both OTA and satellite.

At least this way it will give you an idea what's coming so you can set your timers to see only the programs you may miss while you are out.

Just a thought.

As far as "expensive," you CAN buy the discs in bulk, as I said, about 30 cents each bought by the hundred, or for a few pennies more, get RW (re-writable) discs, after you watch a program, erase it and re-record ... again, just a thought.

I have found that using a hard drive to store the shows is the easiest for my situation. once you have a few shows recorded, it is too time consuming to try to either copy them to DVD or to master a DVD out of the files. VideoReDo does an excellent job of repairing files with any problems. I highly reconmend VideoReDo. Unfortunatelly, I have the same problem in that Titantv only gives a show discription and not an episode discription for my RTV listings. As for playing the files, if the computer is powerfull enough, it is just a matter of finding the right codecs to play the files smoothly. This can be a hugh task though, as one combination of codecs might play some files great and others poorly. One other way to go is to use a media tank to play your files on a tv. You record the files to an external hard disk, remove the hard disk and plug it into the media tank when you want to play them. I have heard many good comments on the Westen Digital media tank, but do not have one. It's on my list to keep an eye out for one during the boxing day sales. The popcorn hour gets great reviews, but is pricey.
Using hard drives to store your files is great, but you loose a lot of programs if one fails, not just 2 or 3 shows. When my internal hard drive starts filling up, I copy the shows to a USB external hard drive. Good deals on 1TB hard drives. They can be found around here for $89.00 CAN.

P.S. Does anyone have a listing for the RTV Ku satellite feeds that gives episode information?

I have and love the WDTV Live, there's very little the box won't play. At the price, I'm recommending them to my friends who want to be able to play back some of my AVCHD recordings but don't have fast enough PCs to deal with AVC.

With the 1st Quarter Report just released, Dish lost another 180,000, now at 4.84 Million.

Sling now at 1.79 million subscribers, down approximately 190,000.

For comparison, YouTube TV now has about double the subscribers of Dish and Sling combined.

I'm surprised Dish still has that many subscribers. I don't know a single person in my area that is still with them after getting either Starlink or fiber at their home. They all cancelled Dish and went with streaming. I used to get offers pretty regularly in the mail to come back to Dish, but no more. Haven't seen one in a couple of years now.

$25 a month for 1 gig, for two years with Spectrum. I'd be darned that their router was MUCH better than AT&T's. I didn't realize that what I thought was something else was the bloody router. Those buffering issues stopped when I swapped... after AT&T refused to lower my bill, after 25 years of high speed internet service. They wanted $80 or so a month for 1 gig, with no drop to a lower speed.

1gbit up and down here from att start out great was suppose to be $60 for life of service, with years time it went back up to $80 I complained about they gave us $49 for year which about to end, I Wonder what prices will be when it "up" I in no way like ATT fiber service there DNS that are hardcode and unchange able in the router are some WORSE DNS I ever used. you know how much of pain it is to change DNS setting on EVERY single wireless device...

I dropped Dish a couple years back after having them for 25 years. The pricing got higher and after we got high speed internet, I watched it less and less. It got to the point all I watched was TCM for classic movies. Many of them are on You Tube now and a Premium subscription is $14 a month. A far cry of the $100 a month was paying with AT180, Supers, and locals. I get locals OTA anyway. I took down the dish several months ago and tossed it. I owned all my my equipment, so nothing to return. Do I miss a traditional cable type service? No way. If I want one I have all of the free live streaming with Roku, the Fire Stick, as well as Google TV. Right now as I type this, I am watching episodes of "The Midnight Special" from 1976 on You Tube, ad free. Dish was fine for many years. I do not regret buying the equipment and installing it myself (No installers in 1999). I enjoyed Dish for many years. My thoughts, Dish & Direct will be forced to merge in time, or they both will be gone. Even cable companies are getting out of TV. Some are only selling the internet and phone packages.

A lot of it flows back to the 4 big networks.
Cable and satellite are their money tree.

But, in reality, each market need 1 or perhaps 2 news feeds - not 4 or more

In my area we get 2 news feeds spread over 4 local stations.
ABC/NBC (TEGNA)
Same news cast simulcast over both channels.

CBS/Fox (Sinclair)
Same news casters at 5pm, 6pm, 10pm.
Fox shows an hour at 9pm but same news casters.

Did anyone have a price increase today on their equipment? I own my VIP211k's, and they have been $5.00. My bill that I received last week shows the "add-ons" as being $5.00. However, I just logged into my Dish account, and my "add-ons" are now $10.00. Did the additional receivers go up by $5.00 recently?

As I mentioned, my last bill shows $5.00 and under the notes, nothing is mentioned about a price increase.

Never mind - according to chat, it seems like there is a glitch in their website. The prices for owned receivers are still $5.00.
zippyfrog
However, when I make a change (tried to add the Columbian pack for $2 so I could generate my bill) and there is a new line - it says "Access for TV" - whereas previously that line item was not there. I hope they aren't charging $5.00 for the initial TV now...

Apparently it's not an "owned receiver" fee but rather an extension fee that's applied to 2nd and subsequent viewing. Maybe that played into their decision to force a box at every TV- garnering those fees

Possibly. In theory, $9 of the base pack has a rental fee built in. But now is this $5 a chance to get a little more? I don't know for sure. According to chat, it is a glitch and will be resolved in a timely manner, but we shall see. Part of my thinks there is a going to be a new charge, whether it is now or this fall. Here in Illinois, the law requires we are given 30 days notice of any fee changes, but I have not been given anything.

These fees are why streaming has caught on so well across the country and DISH is losing subs each quarter. Soon won't be enough subs to be profitable.

Hello again, haven't posted here in a while.

This morning, around 6:30am, I woke up and found the front panel lights on my HR44 on (I leave it off all the time as it is co-located with one of my Geminis).

Immediately thinking that either a reboot or power outage occurred, I checked the software version, and found that it's still the same release that was sent out last month.

I then ruled out a power outage by checking the clocks on my appliances and seeing that they're still correct (they reset when there's an outage, somewhat similar to the "blinking 12" on VCRs).

I then confirmed a reboot by checking the Upcoming Recordings (fka To-Do List) and seeing that the number was much lower than before (it always resets after a reboot).

I am definitely guessing what happened (and it may very well be actually what happened) is that the "Reset Required" prompt may have come up sometime overnight, and it eventually timed out and rebooted automatically. IIRC that prompt comes up when new software "plugins" have to be installed.

Would like to hear your thoughts, especially since I probably haven't talked to some of you reading this in a while (was a former CE member, left almost a year ago).

Thank you all in advance!

My HR54 blue light is on this morning. I think you ae right about the plugins. They are tweaking things in the customer National release. What version does your HR44 Genie have now? I think you are probably on the same varsion as the CE group today.

I believe mine says 0x1D7F

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

Our DNS provider is encouraging us to enable DNSSEC on our domains for added security.

I have gone ahead and enabled it, and am told it may take anywhere from 90 minutes to 24 hours for it to take effect.

Hopefully doing this does not harm the site in any way. (It shouldn't) but if it does, you will then know why and I will revert the settings.

But from what I am reading it should be ok. so just giving a warning as I have screwed up DNS stuff in the past. :D

Due to security concerns and the fact that the Tapatalk Plugin for Xenforo is no longer being updated we have removed Tapatalk support from SatelliteGuys.

For those who were using it we recommend using our PWA App instead which is faster and does not have all the spam Tapatalk had. Below is a graphic showing how to add SatelliteGuys to your devices home screen. (While iOS is shown the process is mostly the same for Android.)

Thanks for your understanding. :)

What is PWA app? PWA utilities seem to be a Spanish app. I hope you are seeing this since nothing seems to be working. I will miss SatelliteGuys. Tapatalk worked well. The Siri browser doesn't seem to work well.

Actually, PWA stands for "Progressive Web Application" and is basically just saving a site's homepage to your desktop where it appears as an "App" with the rest of your smartphone's Apps.

A PWA is a custom version of SatelliteGuys which is optimized for mobile devices. While it may look like the website, its actually different so that only the files needed for mobile are sent, meaning its a much faster experience all around.

TapaTalk is essentially dead. It was written for PHP 5.4 and we are now running PHP 8.4. There have been a LOT of PHP security updates since then and since Tapatalk for Xenforo has not been updated in a long long time it is not the safest idea to keep running it.

In addition those trying to view the site on their mobile devices using a browser were getting spammed on the top of the screen for people to install TapaTalk, this ad in some cases would take up 20% of the users screen. We could get rid of that ad but we would have to pay $20 a month to get rid of it.

Screenshot 2026-06-11 085611.webp

In addition TapaTalk could and was inserting their own ads on SatelliteGuys in the app which only benefitted them, SatelliteGuys was not paid for those ads they were displaying on our site. Again we could pay to get rid of those ads.

Screenshot 2026-06-11 085641.webp

And here was the cost of the Premium Tier.

Screenshot 2026-06-11 085701.webp

Now to make matters worse Tapatalk recently announced that they are going to start charging users of the app 99 cents a month to continue using it.

Screenshot 2026-06-11 090141.webp

So soon you would be paying them each month to access SatelliteGuys via their app, again all the money going to them... and you would still see all their ads too.

Tapatalk was a great program which we run for many many years, and for a long time we DID pay for the premium tier. But now with such a small offset using it (My numbers show a total of 6 members) it wasn't work paying for any longer.

In addition Tapatalk was sold to a different owner who made lots of promises of improvements and updates but then that owner has been really radio silent since, instead they have been letting TapaTalk rot on the vine.

If you visit their support forum at https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/tapatalksupport/ you will see there is not much going on, in fact most of the support questions posted there go unanswered.

Please give the PWA a try, I was a die hard Tapatalk user myself but now only use the PWA on devices. It is a much better all around experience, with no bloatware or additional ads based on your user membership level.

I don't have an android phone so I could not make a graphic showing you how to add SatelliteGuys PWA to your phones apps or home screen. But here is a site that explains how to do it on all kinds of devices. How to Install a PWA on iOS, Android, Windows & Mac [2025 Guide]

The above link also explains PWA's better as well. :)

If Tapatalk were to update their plugins so we know we are more secure and up to date and allow us to remove the "Smart Banner" without having to pay $20 a month, we would consider adding it back. I don't even care about their ads, as if a user wants to use their app and is willing to sit through their ads in order to use that app then I am ok with it.

But hopefully that explains better why it was removed. It was not done to cut anyone off from the site. :) Please give the PWA a try.

As you may have noticed we are doing a Fund Raiser for SatelliteGuys!

As many of you know I have been paying for a majority of the operation of the site out of my own pocket for awhile now. Now looking at things we have a number of renewals coming up that I could use some help with. These renewals include the license renewal for our Forum Software, Renewal of a number of our add on's the site uses, renewal of domain names etc.

I have set a goal of $400.00 - any extra that comes in will just go to fund the operations of the site. None of the money will go to me (I tried BuyMeACoffee a few months ago, and they denied me saying they do not do business with Satellite Piracy sites... which we are not... hell we host the beta programs for both DISH and DIRECTV here...)

Anyways... if you would like to help out please click the link below.

Thank you in advance. :)

I planned on removing it today, but then my fathers car broke down and I had to drive him all around to get his stuff done. Then I had a doctors appointment after that which was annoying...

Dr asks me if I have had any changes, so I tell him something wrong with me that started a month or so ago and his reply back is, that it sucks to get old... I hate that. Why ask me. if your going to come back with a smart ass answer.

Anyays I hope to get rid of Tapatalk tomorrow. :)

And we had more people donate today, thank you! The extra money is going to future expenses since things like add ons don't expire at the same time.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU AGAIN!

Yeah, dr's...joint pain? Your joints are wearing out. It hurts when I do this...don't do that

No excuse for a flippant response like that from a doctor! I'd be looking for a different one.

Tapatalk has been removed.

I have added a new feature which is a work in progress called "Social Feed" which displays the forums Facebook style. Its nice for people who like that, but needs work. But i have been watching this one for awhile and the author is being really responsive to suggestions and adding them. So if you have any please let me know and I can pass them along. :)

I heard on the radio, after the final pitstop, Turner Motorsport were resigned to second place. 'You're in second. Don't worry about it. First is McLaren, we aren't catching them.'

Caught up to the 500... err... k in St. Louis. What a race! Andretti Motorsport were doing very well with Ericsson and Kirkwood, meanwhile Power was moving up the grid. Veekay started cautiously. He was working the tires just right, becoming more lethal later in the stint. Rasmussen was racing likewise, not nearly as insane as he has in the past. Palou was leading the race, in a shocker to all. Caio Collet was having a wonderful ride, making Ferucci potentially sweat a bit. Rain came, rain went, rain came, rain went. Generally mild sprinkles, but enough to pause racing on an oval.

Palou would kind of send Siegel into the wall. Siegel really didn't do much wrong. As he noted, you have to turn at some point. Palou had acres of room below and Siegel might have had his ticket out of Indycar stamped. Dixon was doing the fuel thing and got busted twice by yellows, not pitting before the flag came out. Then the most critical happened... Palou ran out of gas on pit lane, effectively giving Newgarden the race lead and win. Newgarden had a very early pit, so he was able to slide in, get service and go. Meanwhile, everyone else was confused and stuck behind Palou for a bit. Once people figured what was happening, Newgarden had a major advantage of several seconds. Newgarden wouldn't look back and when it went green again, he'd hold the lead for the win.

Massive credit to Juncos Hollinger who bested Penske in getting Veekay out before Malukas in a transition that was oddly bizarre. I haven't had time to check, but I'm wondering if Veekay was about to run out of fuel or cut a tire. He was charging late in a stint, got up to fifth, and then tailed back for a few laps to 10th or 11th. It looked like it was over. Went into the pits, and after the pitting sequence was over, Veekay was well inside the top ten again. It was weird. And he charged, getting up to fourth. He made a late move on Rasmussen, but Rasmussen held his position with some great driving. In fact, there was a ton of incredible racing passing, not passing all race long. Veekay would finish 4th. A podium would have been awesome, but it is a great outcome for a guy who hopefully will get a break with a big team. We saw what Veekay could do with a Honda last season with fuel save, imagine replacing Simpson on Ganassi and having speed to go with fuel saving. His 6th at Indy and 4th at St. Louis get him up to 13th in the points standings and only 5 points outside of the top 10.

Ericsson finished second, resigned to finishing behind the current best in the world guy on a short oval. Rasmussen got the final step on the podium, a nice rebound to what has been an otherwise bad year for him, and a good reward to ECR who just extended his contract.

They raced USAC cars at Daytona once. Once! People died. Aj Foyt said 'f this', and left after the first go around. AJ freaking Foyt thought it was crazy! And cars weren't nearly as fast as they are now.

I think they tried Talladega once too.

LeMans qualifying on going. WEC has d9ne a great job expanding the automotive company entries. Even without Porsche, a large nunber of manufacturers.
