We are finally supposed to get some snow!
So far this winter season we only got a inch or 2 here and there which is well below normal. The "Lake Effect Snow Machine" is going to kick into gear over the next couple of days. The wind direction determines which areas will get pounded and which ones are spared. Usually New York state lakeshore counties (towards Buffalo) get hit first and then when the wind shifts the snow bands will move to a different area like northwestern PA. The weather gal is predicting up to 2 feet of snow out of this. The bad thing is that this time of year the temperature will be just right where the snow will be wet and heavy plus metal (like on BUDs and dishes) will be cold enough to freeze. This causes an ice layer that is nearly impossible to remove and it sure downgrades reception especially Ku band and knocks it out a lot of times. As winter rolls on and the lake gets colder and eventually it will freeze over, the snow gets drier and lighter which is easy to remove. Last years wet lake effect snow squalls knocked my reception out at least 8 times!

I don't bother with snow. I don't like snow. I like it better than ices and sleet and slush, but I'd rather be in Florida right now!
It is - 4.0 degrees F here right now and I am surrounded by snow! My car is buried and I can't even walk out to the mailbox without wading through drifts up over my hips.
I went out to my car and lost a shoe. Called in the farmer to open my driveway. Hope it remains open! I am counting on the wind not blowing. It is really nasty, but, for all of it, I know that we got the least of the storm!
Now how do you like those apples?
My Mother even called me to see if I was alright. It is bad out here, but evidently it is even worse in town for her.
I am sure glad that I stopped at the gas station on my way home the other day and bought plenty of...BEER! LOL!
I always make fun in a bad situation. What the heck else are you going to do about it? And how could I complain? I have food, I have water, it's warm inside, I have warm clothes if I want to go outside. No body comes to my door to sell me anything (Wahoo!).
I have TV and radio and get to talk to all of you! :up
Yep! This is ok with me! I like it just fine.
I am glad that all of you are around, I probably wouldn't like being stuck at home alone. You all make it worth while. I have someone to talk with while I am stuck here. And, may I say that I enjoy being: "stuck in the middle with you". Eh, some of you will get that, some won't. But, I have plenty of time.
Take care everyone! And thanks for keeping me company here! :up

One thing about this winter weather, it makes you appreciate spring and summer that much more!
I must have picked a really good spot for my dish. My car was buried in snow, but I can still see the grass below my dish. The 1.2 M GeoSat Pro dish and the DG-380 motor are doing nicely through this winter storm. It's not as cold here as it is for Cadsulfide. He's up there in ND and -20! We only got down around -5 to -10 at the worst. It got a little windy, but not as bad here as they predicted.
Still, the dish and motor kept on working just fine!
I'd still rather be in FLA, though!

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!
So let the game continue!
The last song was added by Bobby who posted...
One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters
CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!
Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game
Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.
Example:
Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow
Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio
Another example:
Ride the Lightning -- Metallica
Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne
Get it?
An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

You can order direct from starlink online or from an authorized retailer.
Not at all like the special equipment needed for a satellite install.
Thank you Nelson,
Yes, I fully agree. I can install it with my teeth, and both hands tied behind my back...but this installation is for a commercial user that will not do it themselves, and myself, Im overseas...
But it looks like that we managed to find someone who can drive there for the work.
Thank you

This should hit a lot of folks with a dose of reality. I can only imagine how much more common this will get as AI progresses.
I read several stories on this and most are clear as mud. They say a lot of the stolen bitcoin has been "locked out" and that everyone will be made financially whole. I guess time will tell if either of these statements are actually true.

Tony as the director.
Would you rather have LaRoche ???Tony as the director.
No. Bring in someone new.
Tony is not serious enough for me. Parker is too close to the team and Tim is too young to take over IMO.
I don't think Tim and Tony are that far apart in Age ...No. Bring in someone new.
Remember what Tony said to Tim when they first got back together ...
Tony said: I am the New Tony, Tim .... (something to that effect)
Tony has changed, he's been running his Security Business ... I'm sure he has grown up.
Give it time ... your judging the New Tony from the old Tony.
It sounds like Tim won't be around the Team much longer either.
