They must be. I have been a customer for 15 years, but due to a recent new job, had to move to another state. My new apartment has no southern view, so I cannot get dish. I am 13 mos into a 2 year term Dish'N'It Up 722 upgrade.

I know I had an early termination fee liability, but they have already made more money on me than I can count. Yet they feel they haven't recovered their costs if they were to give a courtesy waive on the ETF. They were resolute about not doing anything to help out. Therefore I will NOT go back to dish when I get my new house in a few months. Or ever.

They also said they would send retrieval boxes automatically, but they no longer pay for the return shipping. They also would not supress sending the boxes. I was returning them in person, and if boxes were delivered it is a tip off that the old house is now empty. They are also charging me 12 mos ETF, even though I should only owe 11.

So several wrong answers and a don't care attitude means Charlie has lost a loyal customer forever. And btw, with the new cable service I get in my apartment, I don't have to pay them to come fix their own DVR if it fails.

Hasta la vista Chuckles. You got your last dime from me, you cheap son of a gun.

All I can say is WOW. The poor guy come here to vent some frustration after getting dumped on by a billion dollar big company, and all he gets here is Big company butt kissers dumping on him again. WOW...

I for sure know that I am not made of money like these big companies are.

We do not know the situation he was in when moving. He may have not had a choice of location availability in his temporary housing.

At the very least dish could Have offers a Hold of service until his now digs were ready as an alternative to him leaving. But they, as all big company's do, truly believe they can get you on the rebound again for more money. They played the scare tactic to try and get him not to leave and it back fired on them.

I truly believe that all company's have forgotten that they work for the customer of there product, and things like this do nothing but cause a loss of not only this customer but the next one he ends up telling them about his bad experience. and now more than likely since the big company lost said customer there will be a charge back to the installer who is on the other end.

The cause of all this Big Business crap on the customer is caused by shareholders who expect a 5-10% increase year over year. They actually post a loss if they do not hit there outrageous projected goals even tho the company was made a billion dollars profit. It sickens me.

Hmm...Ok another anti free market individual..
Ok...DO you think it's ok for peole to throw a piece of paper out of their car window onto the highway? AFter all it's just ONE little piece of paper..Now suppose a section of roadway has 100,000 cars travel on it each day. Suppose every person in each one of those vehicles throws one little piece of paper out of their car window. Now we have a huge mess.
In other words every time a piece of paper hits the ground it make the mess larger. It adds up. Get it?
No one is "dumping" on the OP. We are stating our position. We understand the world of business. We also understand the defintion of a contract.
BTW how do you knwo the OP doesn't work for one "those big companies" ? The company that pays his salary and quite possibly could have paid for his move to a new location so they could use his services as an employee?
Or maybe he works for a small business that is strugglingot turn a profit?
Either way, most of us are employed. 40% of us work for one of those "big companies".

I actually wish those littering fools including smokers with the cigarette buts would get fined the littering law...

I am one of them that work for one of those big companies who has taken the big pay cut, and yes I am glad to still have a job.

and as I stated we do not know the story of the op...

If he does that does not change that his current temporary situation does not allow him line of site, or so he stated, because we do not know. That is why i think all companies who require a contract should allow temporary suspension of service. not years but up to 6 months or so.

the dha agreement does not let no line of site of void the ETF fee. if the customer chooses to relocate it is beyond dish's control. even those this OP says he is not choosing to relocate, no one has a gun to his head forcing him to. he is choosing to relocate to better suit himself when it comes down to it.

if you do not like the terms of the commitment, then you should have never signed it. there were plenty of other options available. he could have paid the 99.00 upfront and gone with the DHA with no commit and no monthly promotional discounts, but all he saw was the free free free discount discount discount and went for it.

You just wrote the majority opinion on this matter. Well done.
Thread should be terminated now because it would be fruitless to point out anything else..

dishcomm--- this is straight out of the dha24 agreement :
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***We reserve the right to change prices, packages and programming at any time, including without limitation, during
any term commitment to which you have agreed. ***We reserve the right to change your payment terms if you fail to
make payments by your payment due date. ***You are still bound by this Agreement if you change your residence. ***Do
not sign this Agreement if you did not receive both pages of this Agreement.***
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

notice the line that says you are still bound by this agreement if you change your residence?
read it yourself http://dishnetwork.com/downloads/legal/DHA_Agreement.pdf .

put that "opinion" in your pipe and smoke it.

Over the past few weeks, I have had problems connecting to streaming services (Netflix, HBO et al). When I go to the TV's native Channels, I have no problem. The Dish internet troubleshooter shows I have a good internet connection. I'm wondering whether it's an issue with my internet provider or a problem with the Dish software on the Hopper Plus. Anyone else seeing this?

I have a DISH Hopper 3 (Software H713) with Hopper Plus (Software P15403). I have not tried streaming services but I primarily watch TVB Jadeworld international package which is only available by streaming and when I have an issue, I usually have to go to a non-streaming satellite channel first before the streaming channels will work again. What software versions do you have and what is the error message if any are showing on your screen? or is that Dish downloading logo just stuck and never finishes?

I'm on H713 on the Hopper and P15403 on the Hopper Plus. It shows internet connection issues and doesn't finish loading the various services. I see the "loading circle going around. Sometimes I get a message saying that the service is having trouble loading my content and to check the internet connection.

Did it ever work correctly before? Hard to say what the problem is. Usually for streaming, it will show the Dish logo with lines sweeping down to show downloading, never seen the circle issue. Did you try a manual reboot, red button reset, power cord unplug/replug to see if it makes a difference.

Might be worth just to ditch the hopper plus. No issues here on h713

Buy a roku and dump the hopper plus you'll be better off. If you have a smart tv you don't need either one. No hopper plus here and no issues!!!

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

Monday 11/2 is a full slate for NBA League Pass as all 30 teams are playing and 14 out of 15 total games are on NBALP. Only one national TV game on Peacock/NBCSN (Thunder @ Cavs).

DirecTV is even having to use several MLB EI channels (from 745-748) and a NHL CI (770) channel to fit all of them in the guide close together. 5 games at 7:30 ET, 3 games at 8 ET, 2 games at 8:30 ET, 1 game at 9 ET, 3 games at 10 ET. Luckily NHL CI is light on Monday (3 games on CI).

DirecTV is providing both broadcast feeds for all League Pass games except Hornets, Magic, Bucks & Raptors that night. These are all teams that have local broadcasts via a OTA channel which is on spotbeams and have streaming deals (DTC) that are not exclusive DAZN teams which DirecTV just signed a deal with (à la Spurs, Grizzlies, Cavs, Pacers & T'Wolves). Its also very common that we don't get Raptors broadcast very often from TSN or Sportsnet Ontario on League Pass.

Only the Knicks, Nets, Wizards, Bulls, Celtics, Rockets, Lakers, Warriors, Avalanche, Sharks and Bruins feeds will be using remaps of 24/7 RSNs that night. The rest will be relying on the part time feeds, including the Nuggets, Blackhawks and Kings who will be on their alt/overflow channels, and MSG Western NY will be live on channel 635-1 to carry Buffalo area ads during the Knicks game.

The NHL Network alternate will be live on channel 215-1 with Red Wings @ Panthers for those blacked out of Golden Knights @ Bruins on the main feed.

The Thunder @ Cavaliers game will be on one of Peacock Game Pass channels that night for commercial customers, they'll also have the back to back U-Conn Women's and Men's Basketball. One of the part time feeds will also be in use for WWE Raw via Joe Hand promotions.

I could be wrong but the only RSN we dont have is NBC SN Philadelphia .
