1. All of my A/V equipment is in the next room, directly behind my TV (with a wall in between of course). I had no room for the equipment next to the fireplace and wasn't about to buy another TV that I could hang on the wall as I have an older rear projection HDTV. Plus it gave me the ability to just buy another set of cables for the XBox360 and we can flip it in between the two rooms real easy. Here's my issue... IR Remotes! I had these old cheap Radio shack pyramids that I setup temporarily. They work, but the line of sight on these things are horrible! I have to point the Dish remote directly at the pyramid to make it work. I miss the ability of just pointing it just about anywhere and it changing the channels, A/V receiver picking up the volume, etc. Then on top of that I had to put the transmit pyramid in the other room across the room so it could hit all the different components on the different shelves. But sometimes the kids are in the way or leave a chair in the line of sight. Huge pain!! Is there something out there that has a small pickup that has a good sensitivity that will retransmit the IR to 3 or 4 eyes that I could place by the components on the shelves (kinda like the ones that transmit the IR from a Slingbox)? It doesn't need to be wireless as I can fish another cable through the wall very easily. I'm looking for some suggestions ones you guys with A/V stuff hidden in cabinets have used. I hate to buy something and find out it is garbage.

2. I currently have my eyes set on this switch since I have no plans on upgrading my audio receiver. I've got too many outputs and this would work just fine to tie in my XBox360, Roku, Dish DVR, and HTPC via HDMI. Plus I could plug in a set of wireless headphones to this box for late night viewing. But MonoPrice has this set of an ETA of 4/27. I don't want to wait this long. Does anyone know of anyone else selling something like this?

HDMI Cable, Home Theater Accessories, HDMI Products, Cables, Adapters, Video/Audio Switch, Networking, USB, Firewire, Printer Toner, and more!

I picked one of these up at Buy.com a couple of months ago. They were in stock and under 35.00 shipped to my door.

digiblur- I have a Home Theater Master remote control. It's an MX-800 with UHF capability. The receiver side has a bunch of IR blasters you can position in front of each device. The 800 is out of date but you should review the newer stuff at Home theater Master web site. This works well when your equipment is on separate shelves in a closed cabinet.

BTW- I also use the RS Pyramids for my Kitchen 722 that is actually located on the other side of a block wall in the Garage. I put the pyramid on top of the 722 and it works fine. The send side is sitting just below the TV monitor in the Kitchen.

Also- I use a Monoprice HDMI switcher. It is full! 5x1 and costs MSRP $59. Works well and supports 24P as well as 60P

Would some sort of optical cable transmit an ir signal through the wall? I'm not saying this would be an ideal solution but I'm curious if it would work. Do you have a dolby optical cable lying around that you could test the idea with?

Hardwired IR extenders tend to be expensive. I have one that works great. It has a small sensor that you run outside the cabinate, it is sensitive and the remote just has to point in the general area, it is in a big room, probably too big for bouncing off far walls.

Inside it has transmitters that go to each device (5-12 depending on model). You stick one to the IR sensor of each device.

They range from $100-$150

But.....if you like Tulsa King....looks like you would probably like this as well. I don't mind spin-offs as long as they don't involve a sassy niece who moves from the big city

I thought I would come here and find lots of complaints about the update to the dish anywhere mobile app, but am not seeing any. It used to look just like the desktop webpage. Now you can no longer filter by sports channels or movie channels. Plus that they made it look like a big button telephone and you see fewer channels in the screen which requires more scrolling. Yes I realize you can look at sports then select which sport you want to look at, I just liked being able to see all sporting events in the guide with all other channels being filtered out. Am I alone in the wilderness on this?

I'm not a big fan of the new layout, especially on my Apple TV. It used to look like the old Guide layout on the Hopper 3, but they changed parts of that, too.

No. Bring in someone new.🤔 Tony is not serious enough for me. Parker is too close to the team and Tim is too young to take over IMO.

I don't think Tim and Tony are that far apart in Age ...

Remember what Tony said to Tim when they first got back together ...
Tony said: I am the New Tony, Tim .... (something to that effect)

Tony has changed, he's been running his Security Business ... I'm sure he has grown up.

Give it time ... your judging the New Tony from the old Tony.

It sounds like Tim won't be around the Team much longer either.

Might be worth a watch when it comes out. Looks like typical big corp against the little guy movie BUT....there is a reason this plot type is so oft repeated, it draws audiences.

If you're going try to read / listen to the book (can't recommend the audio book enough) before this comes out, I'd avoid trailers.

Trailer below, spoiling it to make sure you read the above bold message first. The book / audio book are fantastic. Go into this blind if you can IMO!

Kind of disappointed at how much they show. A lot still to see, but man, some good reveals in the book that are just served up here.

I've seen it twice. Can't recommend the audio book enough, Ray Porter's performance is amazing and there's so much more in the book than the movie.

Forgot to comment. I did watch when it first came out on MGM. I enjoyed it a lot. I think reading the book made it easier to watch. Several friends commented it was a little hard to follow.

I agree. That can go for pretty much any book vs movie. Back when I was single I would read any Stephen King or John Grisham book I could get my hands on. When you read a book you make up the scenes and characters in your mind.....the movie version always disappoints.

A big win for the Patriots, and they are now 3-2.

Browns lose a close one with... The Jets. That is a classic Browns loss (granted, any loss is a classic one it seems). 49'ers, Vikings, and Chiefs remain undefeated. The AFC north have a three way tie at 3-2 for second place.

I had quit watching this show years ago because I ended up more annoyed than entertained. Well......I'm STILL more annoyed than entertained. I DO find it interesting to see how things work behind the scenes at many businesses. What annoys me is how utterly out of touch CEOs are with the companies they run. At the end of almost every episode the head of the company is amazed at how hard the employees have to work and many times have to work around impossible guidelines set forth from headquarters.

I found this one interesting because the new CEO had big plans for this company, Muscle Maker Grill, and it looked like the stores were all pretty busy. Recent history hasn't been good to this company however. I bet the covid lockdowns were the real killer.

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....
