Who can honor a promise made to me by a rep

Wish I would have read this 3 days ago. I am in the middle of a dispute with DIRECTV and they are down right rude about it. I was told that i had 30 days to cancel my service if i was unsatisfied with it. I was having a multitude of issues and was being led in circles never finding out the aswers or having my problems resolved, so I canceled about 26 days into my contract. Now I am being hit with a $460 ETF, because I was given the wrong information. I had no reason to belive the CSR was lying and I should not have to call back in to double check the information. I wish someone in this company had the courage to actually listen to everything I have to say and make this issue right.

I don't understand the part where "Some states have a 14 day window but that is from time of order not installation."

You can cancel your order anytime up to the point that you sign your papers after the install is done in any state. 14 days or not. At least that is the way I understood it.

you have 14 days.

If you order on the 1st and get installed on the 3rd , you still have 12 days to cancel after you signed the papers.


Anyone can cancel the order before install. The 14 day rule is just following the letter of state law.

Yes basically,


to the other person tommarow I post the list of states that get the 14 day deal. I know for it to happen you have to directly order with dtv otherwise you have to go through your retailer to cancel .

STONEMAN:

There is more to it than that. It makes a difference how the customer was solicited. For years Directv has tried to stop telemarketers from just calling everybody...and the FEDs have concurred. But here, in Maryland, you can cancel within three days of delivery...but the law seems silent on other durations other than it must be a door to door solicitation.

Then there is a whole body of contract law that outlines a basic contract.........including that both parties understand what the agreement says.........

Laws and courts speak but bull walks! Just don't pay them!. Make them prove they rendered service.

I have a judgment against an installation company but nobody seems to have a clue how to collect my money because they left the state. Therefore, how can we help this poor, new customer just because the local news will not come from the same town they line in? Traffic sucks everywhere...crime kills...why watch it at the end of the day anyhow?

Stoneman, I know you can do this but ...have your coffee first...it is only TV!.

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy - Paramount+

Season 2 order already in hand:

'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy' Renewed for Season 2, Tatiana Maslany to Guest Star in Season 1

I've not been optimistic about this show based on what I've read so far. Seems to be aimed at a younger audience. Interesting though that Tatiana Maslany will have some sort of role.

Here i am over a year later and just finished season 1. Not great but not as bad as I was expecting. Did not care for the barefoot captain stuff but overall ok. Actually looking forward to see what they did for season 2.

Yeah, the foot stuff was just nasty. I kept thinking of how dirty her feet would get traipsing around shoe-less. Funny, I love being shoe less at home and never wear shoes indoors in my home for long, but seeing her laying on all her furniture with her bare feet hanging out just kind of grossed me out.

There would still be dirt ,dust in the future I am sure. So walking around the station like she did she would get stuff on her feet. I am sure the robot vacuum is still going to miss stuff, with all those different alien species running around there.

Where is it going to come from -- specifically?

Why do you think cleaning technology won't improve in the next few hundred years? HEPA filtration was invented as part of the Manhattan Project.

I don't know, but I still don't like her walking through the station or the academy with out her shoes. It looks unprofessional and very "hippy like" for someone of her status and I personally don't get off to feet, so there is that. ;)

The future of Stargate is in question today, as SCI FI Channel has cancelled the long-running Stargate SG-1, Multichannel News reported today and a GateWorld source has confirmed. The news regrettably follows the airing of the show's milestone two-hundredth episode on Friday.

Stargate Atlantis, meanwhile, has been renewed for a fourth season, with the network hoping to see that the spin-off series can stand alone, according to a source.

I think they were more of a transitional receiver bridging the VIPs to the Hopper. They were a PITA to install and were buggy. Personally, I thought at the time that they were the best receiver out there. The versatility of the VIP's with the new Hopper GUI and, by far, the coolest-looking front plate and lighting.

Well if it is because of reliability that wouldnt shock me.I went through 5 or 6 of them in little over 2 years. I loved the Sling when it worked! Saved lots of money having it in the day. That was probably 15 or 16 years ago?

I don't recall that they came out just before hopper, but rather that they came out even before 722. Or could be thinking of 921.

As to the title pf the post, "rare" does not necessarily mean valuable or desirable.
