Video games via BB Movie Pass

It looks like video game rental is a joke.

I tried to add a recently released title, "Resistance 3", to my queue and it came up "Unavailable" even though the title was released over a month ago and is in the Blockbuster stores. I was able to add a game that was 4 months old, "Red Faction: Armageddon", but it was listed as "Very Long Wait".

Here's the other catch: you can't make an in-store exchange for a "new release" video game, which I found out means any title that isn't discounted to 99-cents per day. Browsing the shelves of my local Blockbuster, this excluded almost all the desirable games in stock. I would say less than 30% were 99-cent games, and none of these titles were less than a year old. In fact, some of them were so obscure that I didn't recognize the titles, and others were previous titles in a series, like the older "Call of Duty" titles. "Red Faction: Armageddon" was priced as a "new release", even though it came out June 7th.

So, they won't let you even add the newest titles (less than 2 months?) to your queue, and even 4 month old titles come up "Very Long Wait", while in-store exchanges for games are extremely limited to very out-dated titles.

I've kept the 2 PS3 titles I originally put in my queue as a curiosity (never expecting to get either of them in the mail) and they always have a status indicated, but it's almost always the "Wait" ones. They are Red Faction: Armageddon and Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage. Fist has never showed anything other than "Very Long Wait", which I suppose really means "we don't have it, but we'd rather not tell you that, so you don't think our selection is as crappy as it really is". I was surprised that the last couple of times I visited the web site, Red Faction availability was listed as "Now" -- but I just checked it and it has been changed back to "Short Wait". I am a GameFly subscriber, so I don't really care if I ever get a game from BB@Home or not... and I certainly wouldn't dream of giving up GameFly and expect to ever get any desirable games through BB@Home.

I added those 2 games (and removed them later) to my queue you had above just to see what would happen and I still don't get an available status on them so I guess something is wrong with my queue. I still have no problems with availability status when I add movies to my queue though.

I've been afraid to try game exchanges because of this in the terms and conditions:
" In-store game exchanges do not count toward the customer's plan maximum and are subject to all of Blockbuster terms and conditions, rental terms, due dates and fees associated with any video game kept beyond the due date."

What exactly does that mean? I thought, like movies, you could exchange for a 99 cent game and keep it as long as you like, no extra charge. The above says you pay the daily rate. So those of you who have used it, how does it really work. Are 99 cent games treated like movies or are they treated the same as if you walked in off the street and rented one (pay for every day you keep it)?

That's a good question, we recently rented did a movie for game exchange abut only kept it for one day. Will have to ask mpmext time I go

I did though have to politely inform the staff that you can exchange movies for games. The person there said at there store they do not get many movie for game exchanges

I know some have mentioned video games actually being available from the que. We are getting one, dropped off a DVD last night at blockbuster and got the email today that a phineas and ferb game is on its way

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

Terrible tragedy. You would think that they would have safe guards in place that would prevent something like this from happening. I guess if you are going to ride in a passenger train it might be best to get a car near the rear.

It's probably been 2 decades since I've listened to an AM radio station. Very rarely listen to FM any more.

That goes for a lot of people. I've been advertising on radio for more than a decade now and am very familiar with this subject. While it is still a valuable tool, it has far less impact than it did just a few years ago. The best reaction I get is from a local Country music station....they play a mix of older and newer music and have a very big footprint.

No, just regular FM stations. One is the country station I mentioned and the other is a Talk Radio station which used to get fantastic results but honestly, since the death of Rush Limbaugh, talk radio just doesn't do as well. There were two guys who had an early morning show which was hugely popular here in the southeast but one of them retired a couple years ago and the show just doesn't garner the same numbers as it used to.

I can't recall having encountered a local ad on Sirius, and I don't imagine it is any different on XM.

Both, and they just made it official with a multiyear deal that also includes TV Everywhere authentication for the DAZN app, and commercial distribution.

DIRECTV, the premier provider of digital television entertainment in the United States, and DAZN, the world's leading sports entertainment platform, today announced a new multi-year distribution agreement for local telecasts of Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs games for DIRECTV streaming, satellite, and U-verse customers in each team's respective NBA-designated home territories.

These DAZN telecasts will be available to DIRECTV customers who subscribe to the Choice or higher packages and to U-verse TV customers who subscribe to the U200 or higher package. Each of DAZN's team services provides live pregame, postgame, and in-game coverage for the respective team.

In the coming weeks, customers who receive access to these teams via DIRECTV will also be able to login to the DAZN platform at no additional cost using their DIRECTV login credentials.

This agreement also provides distribution rights to each of the five NBA teams to all of DIRECTV FOR BUSINESS' thousands of sports bars, restaurants, fitness clubs, and other commercial venues located within each team's respective region.

All DMA's now Western Arc

I know HipKat said that they were working on conversions but we got the official news yesterday right from Dish that starting next month all DMA's will be on the western arc, and all customers will be assigned to that. That's gonna mean a lot of customers around here aren't gonna get Dish unless there are exceptions. Too many mountains and trees.

Advertisers on SD channels are probably Far and Few, very hard to find, they have very few viewers to watch them.

I watch mostly SD channels (H&I, Start and ION, etc.). There are plenty of advertisers, this time of the year it is mostly Medicare Advantage plans, auto extended warranties and the occasional walk-in-tub. They know who is watching.

Dish should use both satellite and internet like they do now for all channels. Use either or or both.... like now but subscribers could choose something like internet only, or sat only, or both.
