I am a die hard Notre Dame fan and trust me I could not wait for the season to be over. I do not know what it s anymore, but quality at ND has gone done rapidly recently. Understandably part of it is their unwillingness to move to a better conference to attract players, but all in all, the future looks bleak.

In any case, I was thrilled to see we got a Bowl game against FSU for the Champs Bowl. What should have been a cakewalk, turned into another disappointing loss. Consequently, the reason for this thread ... How Was or how do you see your teams bowl game?

OMG... Yeah they are a damn good team, you are not giving them enough. But I see whats going on, you will trash them and if they beat vt you will trash vt even more....its really sad. VT is a good team, Michigan is a good team - should be a good game no matter who wins.

The second part of your statement is more correct.

Michigan is a Good team, no better than a Good team this year, next year they will be better, Brady Hoke has got them turning the corner and in the right direction.

They had NOWHERE to go but up, the D* last year was atrocious, so this year they HAD to be better, which they are.

As for me trashing them if they lose or win, nope, not me.

I don't ever trash them, never have probably never will.

But this is just freakin funny! I see where this is going... VT wins here we go... "Ohh well vt played a "good" michigan team but not a very good team blah blah win or lose blah blah"

Ya know what... Michigan is a damn good team.. damn good program and will be a damn good match up.. kinda getting old every week.

I am NOT a M fan though.

YOU on the other hand have been saying how GREAT your VaTech team is all year and now when they get to a bowl game it's we really don't have much of a chance ....

Look at some of your posts in the last two weeks about it.

M is a GREAT program, but not a Great team this year.

VT is a very good program...good team this year, rebuilding QB - lost 5 defensive starters, not one fan can really complain about how they have performed this year..if they do they are not really a fan.

As for Michigan..yep damn good team and great program. Will be a good game either way.

I tend to agree. Rich Rodriguez took charge of what I estimate to have been an 8-4 team and coached (if that's an appropriate term) them to back-to-back losing seasons, and the first losing season at Michigan in 40-years. He then coached them to an embarrasing loss to an SEC team last years...a conference the Wolverines have dominated in bowl competition over the past 25-years (8-2 record). I could see losing to a Top 5 Alabama or Tennessee team, but to get their arses handed to them by Mississippi State. Argghh!!

Anyway, my point is that Brady Hoke has taken Rich Rodriquez's 8-4 players (Note: RR's record was 15-22 overall and 6-18 in the Big Ten) and managed to finish 10-2 this season. Why? Because Hoke actually coached them...he instilled discipline, hard work and values. Moreover, he dumped the fly-by-night offensive scheme (very offensive) and, more importantly, is teaching the kids how to play defense. Imagine that!!! Are the Wolverines that good...probably not, but they aren't going to quit and they play smart, tough football.

Michigan is certainly the big name in college football. However, they probably don't deserve to be in a BCS Bowl. On the flip-side, Virginia Tech probably didn't deserve their BSC Bowl invitation either after suffering another blown-out loss to Clemson. I certainly understand the criticisims that one or both teams are playing in the Sugar Bowl. Let's be honest...Michigan is the winningest program is college football history, leads the country in attendance year-after-year and have a huge fanbase that will follow them anythere. Heck, given the awful Michigan economy, most alumni appear to be working anywhere but in Michigan these days. Likewise, the Hokies have been a BCS mainstay the past 10-15 years and have developed a loyal following. Would anyone tune-in to watch Boise State play Houston in the Sugar Bowl? And would anyone buy tickets? There would probably be a lot of emply seats and passive college football fans would opt to watch Dancing With the Stars or some other nonsense. The botton line is a Michigan-VT matchup is going to fill the season and provide television ratings.

Regarding the game...I have absolutely no idea what to expect! Both teams have looked really good at times this season, and both teams have also looked pretty bad. Folks who think Michigan are going to dominate this game are delusional. Although they are well-coached and have some good things going on with the offense and defense...the bottom lines is they still have giant holes due to the RR's recruiting efforts. For example, Michigan will be fighting a huge uphill battle if their running game is stopped. As much as I like Robinson, I would like to see another traditional Tom Brady, Chad Henne, Elvis Grbac, Jim Harbaugh type QB. Robinson's passing game is only effective if Michigan is able to run the ball...which is not so easy to do against the top-notch teams. Moreover, although Michigan has renewed it's committment to defense (vastly improved)...they really don't have a dominating defense. It's more of a bend but don't break scheme, and a high-powered offense will still give them trouble.

Anyone who thinks Virginia Tech will dominate Michigan is smoking wacky weed. Even if VT were to go up by two touchdowns in the first half, Michigan has a lot of offensive weapons to catch-up, and the coaching staff usually makes very good halftime adjustments. I cannot speak intelliegenty about the Hokies since I have only seen three of their games this season but, from what I have seen, they too have plenty of pros and cons. Overall, I am expecting a well-played, highly-entertaining, and very competitive game.

Finally, this year I have resolved not to hate that talking a@@bag known as Rich Rodriguez or anyone involved with his hiring (i.e., Bill Martin). Of course, I am having trouble with this one. :D

Good team...formerly great program that is recovering from the undynamic duo of Rodriguez/Martin...and 8-4 caliber players IMO. However, "things" are looking up for the program (excellent recruiting classes for 2012/2013) and Brady Hoke is, at least, qualified to coach a major program. There are still plenty of unknowns but I am expecting (hopeful) that Michigan-Ohio State to have some epic battles with Brady Hoke and Urban Meyer at the helm. We shall see.

PISTONS and THUNDER are finally testing on the stream server. PISTONS is showing the Ion/Scripps Sports promo loop filler that their NHL and WNBA feeds have, THUNDER has a "You are watching Thunder+" slate

The Clippers still haven't officially announced their TV plans beyond 10 simulcasts on KTLA, but the NBA's FAQ for ClipperVision is now live. The CLIPPERS feed is currently showing a loop of their Hawaii preseason game.

The Heat still haven't announced their West Palm Beach or Fort Myers affiliates. Since WPLG is streaming the games for free via their app, I doubt we'll be seeing the return of WPLG on stream.

So far nothing testing for the Bucks, Magic, Hawks or Hornets.

West Palm Beach is getting it on WTCN-CD/43 MNT. Still nothing for Fort Myers

Also, the Thunder's deal for KSBI/52 OKC and KQCW/19 Tulsa will be via a special cable and DIRECTV only feed of those stations. OTA viewers and Dish customers will be limited to 10 games.

Not seeing 44 (WVBT-DT/44 CW Norfolk ) on my D* app for firestick

It's only available for streaming customers, they still haven't added that batch of CW stations to satellite.

Even if it was, satellite customers still can't stream their CW affiliates via the app, just the Big 4, select PBS stations and some independents (mainly the ones that have full season NHL/NBA rights)

Be nice to see a Cowboy headline like that.
Yes the Cowboys owner needs to fire the general manager (himself), co-owner, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Executive Vice President, Director of Player Personnel, and President of AT&T Stadium (his son) and then he should jump off of a cliff. Only then can they recover.

Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson had an argument about who was responsible for the dynasty building of the early 90's Cowboys.

The rest of us figured it out in about 3 years, Jerry has had over 30 years but still can't admit it. It's all he lives for, to show everyone he can put together a winner. I don't think he can. His kids only know what he taught them.

Odd that out there, Prem is only 40 cents higher. Here it's a full dollar more.

Last night it was about $4.17 gas, $6,19 diesel.

On the West Coast, a 40-cent differential is common. It used to be 30 cents before the prices rose above $3.

A "full dollar more" sounds like it may be boat gas (non-alcoholic), which is a whole different discussion.

Both non-ethanol and prem run about the same....buck more. When we were up in TN it was a buck more up there as well.

In Oregon, our premium boat gas is about a dollar more than our corn premium. Several stations only offer the non-corn premium grade.

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

17 years ago the US turned off analog OTA signals in favor of digital broadcasting. Now the push is ATSC 3 "Nextgen TV". But nobody seems to be able to agree on DRM implementation protocols. People don't want to hook their TV up to the internet in order to watch over the air TV. At least I don't. With all the data they collect about your viewing habits the box should be given away at no cost.
