GEOSATpro  Is there any "disk maintaining" needed....in attached hard drive on Micro HD?

I've enjoyed recording and "banking up" programming on the MHD unit so much, I realized last night I'm down to about a quarter of the original available space, so I started deleting things I want to "let go."

Don't see any "defrag" type things referenced on the MHD menu.

Question: is space accurately reported after large amounts of deleting, and is there any kind of disk "stuff" that one should do to clean
the disk up after large amounts of deletion or does it not affect space reporting and efficiency to just keep it going....and going....and going.......??

Perhaps I've missed this in another thread. Apologies if it's been asked!

Love the MHD unit! Nice having reliable recording and no stuttering.

We wish to look at a problematic DVR recording file as the report is that these files cannot be simply copied to another drive for successful playback. If this is the case, it is not a drive mapping issue as we previously identified and were able to fix with a drive first aid.

If a DVR recoding file cannot be played from a new drive after copying with a PC, the issue must be with the file compatibility. I agree that firmware changes should be able to address this, but the changes can only be made if we have a problematic file to test.

Most of my recording are HD PBS programs therefore are typically 1-2GB. How do I suggest I provide them to you?

I found a short file that should help with figuring out why the updated microHD won't play back files from older firmware. It's a .TS from before my firmware update, and was recorded on December 1st, during a well-known feed on 83W. The video is just black, with a burned-in subtitle. It will no longer play as a DVR recording on my microHD, but will play without problems on a PC in Media Player Classic or any other media player. On the microHD, it shows as a blue screen, and appears to play at about 3-4x normal speed, judging by the time reference.

Since I do not have access to a file sharing site, I tried to send it via PM, but couldn't attach it. I tried to attach it here, but at 171 mb it is too large. Is there any way I can upload this file to Satelliteguys for Brian to get it? Also, do you need the associated .DVR file in addition to the .TS file? Thanks!

Interested in seeing an example of this error as it has only occurred with a few users.

Will PM you before the end of the week with a private FTP and password.

Zip the entire recording folder including the .ts and the TWO .dvr files.

Will do. The clip is one minute 15 seconds long, and there's a bit of picture at the end. It is a 1080i stream.

Thanks Brian! Maybe we can solve this thing. The two .DVR files might contain the answer :) ...

I'm getting fabulous picture on Ch. 148 4k, but zero audio with H713. This is with a recorded show (Notre Dame game). Anyone else have this? Audio is fine on every other channel.

It's a known issue.
For a temporary fix, go into the menu, Audio, and turn Dolby Audio "OFF". You will have PCM stereo audio.

I was able to give the tech ops team some data logs so they could diagnose the problem, and they rolled me back to H708 temporarily. It fixed that issue.

They let me know that they understand what caused the issue, and it will be fixed within a few weeks in a new update.

I guess they will be busy when lots of people start asking for rollbacks to H708 now that you mention that downgrades of software does exist because it will likely fix the OTA Single Tuner and the IR Remote problems in H710-H713.

The future of Stargate is in question today, as SCI FI Channel has cancelled the long-running Stargate SG-1, Multichannel News reported today and a GateWorld source has confirmed. The news regrettably follows the airing of the show's milestone two-hundredth episode on Friday.

Stargate Atlantis, meanwhile, has been renewed for a fourth season, with the network hoping to see that the spin-off series can stand alone, according to a source.

Well, there are a couple involving the Antarctic. "Solitudes", S1 E17 (one of my favorites), Then, "Lost City', S7 E21 and E22. Then, in the SGA pilot, "Rising", S1 E1 and E2, it starts out in the Antarctic for about the first 20 minutes or so.

If I understand your question, O'Neill had the Ancient's knowledge in the "Lost City" two-part episode. That was when Anubis attacked Earth and there was a big battle over Antarctica.
