Been on Sprint for years (15+), but finally looking at a move to Verizon. I'm just tired of the Sprint data network that is perpetually going to be better "soon", and seemingly degrading voice signals in my area. My brother has had Verizon equally as long, and never seems to have signal problems...hence the move to Verizon. (Not a fan of AT&T in general, so they aren't an option in my mind) With my latest two-year contract ending and the S6 release imminent, seems now is the time.
That said...does anyone know if Verizon typically allows phone pre-orders to new customers establishing new accounts, or is that reserved for existing customers?
As for number porting...having never been through this, how does that usually work? I was planning to have the the two accounts overlap for a couple weeks to make sure I'm happy with Verizon before killing off the Sprint acct...which leads to the last thought...does a number port have to happen when the Verizon acct is setup, or can it happen after a few weeks?
Just wondering folks experiences on those topics before I hit the Verizon store and start the CSR roulette in person. Thanks!

Thought I'd post a follow up. I ended up pre-ordering through Best Buy instead of Verizon, since BB included Samsung's new Wireless Charger for free on pre-orders. Spoke to a manager before-hand, and they were able to do so, even though I wanted to switch to Verizon.
Phone came in yesterday (Samsung S6 Edge 32GB Black Sapphire
)...Best Buy setup the new Verizon account, ported my number over from Sprint, and I was out the door. The port was completed and active on new acct before I left the store. Really enjoying the new phone AND the better signal so far!

the samsung wireless charger is $20 buck on amazon..Verizon would have given you $100 for ported number + atleast another 100 for your old smartphone (If it works)Thought I'd post a follow up. Actually, the new Samsung wireless charger that came out with the S6 is closer to $50 (though, yes, there are other less expensive options on Amazon for wireless chargers). The Verizon $100 port-in offer was only if you wanted to go on the Edge program (I didn't), and my old M8 should sell for considerably more than $100 on ebay or swappa.
All that, plus I was able pre-order several days earlier on BestBuy before Verizon opened pre-orders.

But.....if you like Tulsa King....looks like you would probably like this as well. I don't mind spin-offs as long as they don't involve a sassy niece who moves from the big cityAnother Tulsa King spin off.
I thought I would come here and find lots of complaints about the update to the dish anywhere mobile app, but am not seeing any. It used to look just like the desktop webpage. Now you can no longer filter by sports channels or movie channels. Plus that they made it look like a big button telephone and you see fewer channels in the screen which requires more scrolling. Yes I realize you can look at sports then select which sport you want to look at, I just liked being able to see all sporting events in the guide with all other channels being filtered out. Am I alone in the wilderness on this?

Tony is not serious enough for me. Parker is too close to the team and Tim is too young to take over IMO.

Might be worth a watch when it comes out. Looks like typical big corp against the little guy movie BUT....there is a reason this plot type is so oft repeated, it draws audiences.

If you're going try to read / listen to the book (can't recommend the audio book enough) before this comes out, I'd avoid trailers.
Trailer below, spoiling it to make sure you read the above bold message first. The book / audio book are fantastic. Go into this blind if you can IMO!
Kind of disappointed at how much they show. A lot still to see, but man, some good reveals in the book that are just served up here.

I had quit watching this show years ago because I ended up more annoyed than entertained. Well......I'm STILL more annoyed than entertained. I DO find it interesting to see how things work behind the scenes at many businesses. What annoys me is how utterly out of touch CEOs are with the companies they run. At the end of almost every episode the head of the company is amazed at how hard the employees have to work and many times have to work around impossible guidelines set forth from headquarters.
I found this one interesting because the new CEO had big plans for this company, Muscle Maker Grill, and it looked like the stores were all pretty busy. Recent history hasn't been good to this company however. I bet the covid lockdowns were the real killer.
