I know this is for Dish TV service but was wondering if anyone has gone from Verizon to the Dish Boost Mobile cell phone service and would you recommend it.

That's because the one good thing the administration is doing is finally going after the fake and non-domiciled CDL drivers, opening the door to hire more valid drivers and hopefully will push the rates back up.

now let's get rid of the piss tanks and tampons off of diesels aka emissions crap since it can bankrupt someone!!! and get rid of ELD'S since they make some drivers drive like idiots trying to find a parking spot. starter mega carriers should not allow new drivers to train that's just a way for em to move cheap freight..

And when they get rid of driver-facing cameras, they'll start to attract the prototypical truck driver back to the industry.

I thought about just buying my own, but goddang. I bought a nice 2000 W900L in 2004 for $52K. New they were just over 100K. Now, a new KW W990 is over $300,000.00

We have started cycling out our fleet, day cabs, but even those are sickeningly high compared to a few years ago.

Second of the crew was delivered today. First was crimson. This on is grey. On down the line we will go until replaced.

Air Conditioning ("Weather Conditioner") was a factory option in model year 1940 Packards.

In 1930, external swamp coolers were available.

Cadillac offered the first climate control ("Comfort Control") in 1964.

Have had Verizon for almost 3 decades now. I rarely use my phone for internet and if there is a way to use wifi I will :)

Not a Verizon fan, but yesterday I was in an area in Central NY for an event where there was no T-Mobile service, no AT&T service, but I had full bars of n77 on Verizon pushing just under 1 Gbps. I'm assuming that's a backhaul limitation. Later in the day I connected to an mmWave node and hit nearly 3 Gbps.

C-band is being lit up all around me, and within eye sight of the cell site I'm always getting at least 750 Mbps.

All three providers suck in their own ways, but for me in my travels generally speaking its T-Mobile for speed, Verizon for coverage and AT&T is just existing

Sometimes a thread gets so many posts in it that is can cause issues for the server so that why today we introduce The Song Name Game Part 3!

So let the game continue!

The last song was added by Bobby who posted...

One Meat Ball - Andrews Sisters

CONTINUE ON AND HAVE FUN! WELCOME HOME TO SATELLITEGUYS.US!

Here are the original rules for the game as posted by WebbyDude back in 2006. http://www.satelliteguys.us/threads/68645-Song-Name-Game

Just name a song title and the band who performed it. The next person does the same thing, but needs to list a song title or band name which includes a word from the previous entry. Pick songs from any genre.

Example:

Long Live Rock and Roll -- Rainbow

Rainbow in the Dark -- Dio

Another example:

Ride the Lightning -- Metallica

Lightning Strikes -- Ozzy Osbourne

Get it?

An additional note: we all know that song titles, sometimes, use profane words. Because this is a family friendly website it is advised that you clean up that title up a bit. This is accomplished by using something like sh!t instead of the real word. Thanks....

Now the FCC wants to lift any restriction on local TV station ownership....Just imagine what carrier fees will be in a few years?

When they first opened here

Wendy's began in Columbus. I got to go to the original store numerous times, and I was trained as a manager at the corporate office in Dublin. Never did get to meet Dave Thomas before he passed, though. Wendy's was a huge part of my life for many years.

I loved those old Wendy's with the old newsprint wallpaper, the solarium and salad bar. As a kid I thought they were so strange compared to McDonald's but looking back they were perfection. Now they're all so sterile with absolutely no personality.

Yep. Dave is rolling in his grave. They killed off the "community room" theme for bland plastic, well.. blandness.

There was once a Wendy's at the Columbus Zoo also. I took great pride in working for the company. We did charitable foundations for students, helped pay college tuition for employees, and pay was above average.

It was sold off to Arby's at one point then bought back, but I don't think the Thomas family has much to do with it anymore.

Last I heard, Wendy Thomas has a franchise in Dallas.

Yes, there was also a self erasing VHS tape. And of course Divx as mentioned earlier. All attempts to avoid the dreaded return of rentals!

I honestly don't think that's it. I think consumer choices have changed so much with the proliferation of on-demand content. Newspapers are dead not because of something they did themselves, but because the advent of Craigslist and online news sites made getting yesterday's news and responding to classifieds manual not worth it.

We're in the same cycle right now. Traditional media is dying for different formats, only this time I think most of us just don't prefer the new options (e.g., youtube streamers and influencers)

After 25 years I thought I knew everything about DISH. I have three receivers on the 71 and 61.5. So last night I removed a WALLE from my man cave to put in the RV. A while later my wife told me I had caused the BR TV to lose signal. I of course said "that is impossible". Long story short, after an hour of trying to restore the BR service I reinstalled the WALLE in the mancave. Walaa, service restored. I did not install the system a pro did it but by my count there are three cables from the roof to the house. One for each TV. What happened?

Well, what makes me feel old isn't the 60-year-old back I got from working hard jobs all my life, Ironworker, Steeplejack, Truck driver, etc., or the torn rotator cuff that never healed correctly or the arthritis in my neck or the weak legs I have that make it harder and harder to climb stairs and ladders, or the 20 lbs I can't seem to lose. It's the effects of Covid twice and the permanent lung damage I got from it, or the RSV last year that seems to have triggered my heart into racing every time I exert myself (Heart moniter coming soon), it's the other effects of long Covid, like getting winded easily, but particularly, the noticeable memory loss that I should NOT be having at my age. Occasionally forgetting a name is one thing, but forgetting the street I lived on in Peoria 10 years ago, band names that I've listened to for years, etc., or something almost daily that's hitting me hard now.

Yep, that's what I've been thinking for the past 20 years. I don't even remember living in Peoria.......oh wait. And, I just had short covid.

Never mind bands I've listened to, sometimes I can't even call the name of someone I've known all my life or worked with for over 30 years. When you start calling your sibling by your children's name or vice versa, or missing the year you did something by a decade or more, or confusing decades of a car you owned, etc., then you'll really start to realize your age. I've lived in 9 different decades, and it's getting harder to keep them separated.

It gets worse youngster, just stand by.

I've had similar memory problems, worsening after my strokes. I've also called my daughter by my pet name for my late wife several times when she's doing things my wife used to do. I don't even realize I've done it until I see the tears in her eyes.

Have you thought about taking Creatine Monohydrate 5grams ?

Creatine Monohydrate may help restore depleted celluar energy in Long Covid and ME/CFS ( Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). It bypasses the damaged mitochondria to rapidly regenerate the ATP, ( adenosine triphosphate production). ATP is the primary energy currency used by cells in your brain and muscles to perform daily functions, supporting physical and cognitive function. It helps with brain fog too.

I buy it in capsule form from Horbaach off of Amazon and I take 5 of them a day and drink WATER to activate the full effects. Like at least 8 to 10 glasses a day. It cost like $18.49 for one time purchase or $15.72 to subscribe to it. There is enough to take 5 capsules a day and that works out to 45 servings in a bottle, so over 45 days of use out of one bottle. I don't like using the big powder forms most body builders take , so capsules are great and very convenient.

I have been on it for 6 months and my muscles are popping and my head is clear. But I never caught Covid once. I have been vaccinated and boosted every year since 2021 in the fall along with my flu shot. I already got my RSV shot last year.

You can also watch videos on You Tube about Creatine 5g and it is full of good stuff about it. You really ought to try it and you have nothing to lose from trying it for a couple of months to see if you feel any better. It takes at least a month to start seeing gains and effects from it, because it takes that long to top off your muscles and your brain to see the full effect. Don't skip any days and be consistent each morning. If you decide to take it let me know if you see any improvement after those two months.

Sorry for your loss NYDutch. We lost a couple of children, one through miscarriage and our 6 month old son died too. I have talked before what we went through with that one. It is the worst thing a parent can go through. I am glad your other daughter has stepped up to be there for her parents.

I have a son and a daughter. He came first and he is always there for me! She came second and she, likewise, is always there as well. A little harder for her, she lives 590 miles away. He is a mile away. I was there for my children and they are paying that back.

Possibly, except before Covid, I had a Pulmonary Test, and my lungs were at 2% blockage, about equal to having never smoked. A Sonogram found no evidence of plaque in my system, and in my Stress test, I never reached my target heart rate. 3 months later, Covid and difficulty catching my breath for months after, which spurred a CAT scan that discovered my lungs were covered with Pollups.

About time if true.

Charter is another that has waited too long.

I get constant calls to return to them ( I switched to fiber), but always at the same speed ( gigabit down, slow up speed) and a price which is more than what I am currently paying.

I'd wonder what they would price their fiber at if they were ever to offer it. Frontier and GoNetSpeed are undercutting them.

Orange = communications. These runs have fiber and some areas coax. NOT RG-6! ;)

BTW, I think I pay about $100 for FiOS Internet. I think I'll keep StarLink at the RV and FiOS at home.

I wondered if that might have been what you were talking about, but at that point I don't recall Buried or underground being use in the description.

It could also be different if it's going thru Manholes as well....

If it's buried in the Ground, it's usually Orange .... Communications .

It should be RED for Power ...

Really as long as its a color .... basically it's for crane operators to see when they are digging a hole.

They did everything underground in conduit here (orange plastic).

Our daughter and her husband live in a very rural area of a neighboring county. There was no cable TV or high-speed internet available in their area. Neither Spectrum nor AT&T had service in their area. Several months ago Spectrum ran fiber down the entire length of the road they live on. My daughter said she thinks everyone who lives in the neighborhood signed up. She didn't say how much it costs but everyone is happy it's now available because they no longer have to rely on the unreliable cell service or Hughesnet (if you want to call that high speed).
I've never heard of people bitching about their fiber- not on cost, performance, service, reliability, speed, latency...

I get your point, but excavators (aka trackhoes) and backhoes are used to dig holes, not cranes.
