Has anyone ever received a message thru the messages feature on the hopper other than the welcome message years ago ? Not sure why dish would implement this feature to never use it. It could be used for new channel info, free previews etc. . Thanks in advance.

That is a happy thought. But I fear Dish, if they start using this feature a lot, will annoy me with yet another plug for their VOD, or worse, tell me how I can stop watching the program I'm watching and start watching it on my cell phone.
That's nuts, even on a phablet.
Of course they are still available. I still hate both of them even after all these years. I still remember trying to make a Screwdriver with vodka and Tang. It's the only time I dumped vodka down the drain!

Always keep plenty of gin and root beer on hand., Then you will neer be without a novel and refreshing beverage.
It may be refreshing but it won't touch my lips. Two beverages give me instant headaches, gin and champagne.
My wife won't let me drink G&Ts anymore for date nights. Last time I may have poured one on a California girl who had been vastly "augmented" and thought she was hot. . He, he, he. If not, then I VOD it. But the LONG, cumbersome journey to the VOD is a big pain, and using voice to show me options for viewing does NOT indicate that VOD is an option. What a MESS.
I get your point and agree about abusing the mail message feature--BUT I LOVE the notice informing me that I can watch from the beginning what I just tuned to using VOD! Of couse, I first check to see if I can just record the next airing on the DVRNow that was drinkable. And still available today with 7 essential vitamins and minerals! It's dead, they just don't know it yet. They killed it by forcing DRM on it, and that TOTALLY botched implementing it.
There is absolutely NO compelling reason for anybody to switch to ATSC3.0. They only want it as a total and complete money grab.

Over the past few weeks, I have had problems connecting to streaming services (Netflix, HBO et al). When I go to the TV's native Channels, I have no problem. The Dish internet troubleshooter shows I have a good internet connection. I'm wondering whether it's an issue with my internet provider or a problem with the Dish software on the Hopper Plus. Anyone else seeing this?

It states the average amount they are under water is OVER $7,000. 
Personally, I tend to be the type that drives a vehicle for a lot of years....do my own oil changes and other fluid changes. Just replaced the spark plugs and a couple coils. Youtube is great for things like this.

Lately my eight year old Dell laptop has been shutting off even when I have a full battery. I have had to keep it plugged up all the time to keep this from happening. Any idea what is causing this? I replaced the battery about three years ago.
