I have a question, why do so many DirecTV subscribers believe TPG will offer less expensive pricing?
They have been in charge for 3 years, in that time frame, at least 4 price increases, including 2 in 2023.
There has not been one sign they will do that, actually it looks like the same 1-2 price increases a year will continue, specially since they will be more in debt with the merger, with absorbing about $10 Billion of Dish's debt, the $10 Billion debt DirecTV already has, the purchase price TPG agreed to pay AT&T over time, is $7.6 Billion.
So the newly merged company will be carrying, at least, $27B of debt, when it is that high, you need more revenue, lowering and offering less expensive options is not how companies do it.
Then the fact that less expensive options are already out there, only one (YTTV at $73) is doing well.
