Hi all, I live in FLA, but spend much time in Northern Ohio summer/fall. Is there a way to take my receiver with me, attach a new dish on my summer place and receive my D*? Also, what will happen to my local channels?

you could do this, but you will not get the locals unless you "move" each time. The reason for this is becasue the locals are brought to you by a spot beam
 
thanks. so there is no way to ask d* for amunity and receive the LA & NY feeds?
 
ya, alrighty then! Can i tell them i am moving to a new location (but not really move) where there are no locals and just get the LA & NY networks? Is there such a place without local channels?

Only if you feel like it. But remember you will lose upn and wb if you move to an address with no locals.
