I installed a 1000.2 this weekend and was able to pickup 110 and 119 with approx. 72% signal strength. I had no luck getting a signal from satellite 129W so it has brought me to this forum. My cords. are LAT=34 Long=-85.8. I have the skew setup to approx. 131 and elev. 45. I figured at 72% signal strength 129W would lock in eventually. I have one coax wire ran from port 1 on the LNB's ran to my ViP222 receiver. Maybe someone here can see what I am missing?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Based on the info that you provided, here are the correct numbers:

Cover the 110 and 129 lnb's (outer ones) and make sure you are seeing 119 with the center lnb.

But are you are seeing 119 with the 119 (center) lnb or with one of the others?

If you are seeing 119 with the 129 lnb and 110 with the 119 lnb signal strengths are irrelevant, you may just be 7-8 degrees too far west and a little low.

Those 3 satellites are evenly spaced and it is common to pick up one of the outer sats with the center lnb since azimuth is very subjective.

Ah...I see what your saying now. I will cover them when I get some free time and get back with you on my findings. I have my dish settings from dishpointer .com. I figured they were sufficient. I then just slowly moved the dish until I got my best signal on 110 & 119 and then checked 129. I got 0% nothing on 129.

I've gone through hell trying to get a lock on 129 using my 1000.2 dish. Every thing i tried came back to a dead end. There are trees relatively close, but they never effected my ability to receive 110 and 119, And despite the fact 129 is going to be 10 degrees off of 119, I honestly don't think the tree's are close enough to effect anything. After trying everything, I ended up sticking up another dish on my back porch roof and aimed it at 61.5, and got all my HD channels. I'm 17 years old, so news, local channels, etc. Don't really matter to me. As long as I have Discovery HD, TLC, Comedy Central, MTV & VH1 in HD, I'm happy. And thats what the 61.5 has provided for me. You may want to consider doing the same thing, you're 1000.2 dish will have an additional LNB-in port on it for hooking up the 61.5 Dish, Set it all up, run a switch test, and your good to go. Hope this helps.

yea, I gave up and been happy with just 110 and 119 for now. I bought a first strike meter and never could pick up 129 for some reason. I get 70+% for 110 and 119 at the moment. I don't know what else I can do other than try another dish.
