In the Charleston, WV (and maybe the other locals markets with odd transponders or specific transponders) has a message stating: "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please Stand By..." The only channel on is channel 42 WPBO which uses an even transponder but channels 3, 8, 11, 13, 25, 30, 33, and 61 uses an odd transponder #9 and they all receive that message. Does anybody know whats going on? I see no other thread started regarding this. It must have went out sometime this evening.

Yes they are received via an antenna in a location somewhere in or near the city they want to receive from, these TV signals are then sent via fiber to the uplink center who turns them around and puts them on the satellite.

If the fiber from a city to the uplink they will lose all the channels for that city. This actually happens quite often, but the problems only last a few moments, and with so many DMA's you almost never hear about it.

I called Dish Network Tech Department and it is a satellite issue effected nationwide for anyone that recievers their locals from 105 on an odd transponder. The problem is unknown and it is not fixed yet from what they were told. Its been out for at least an hour now. They were having such audio and video issues that they had to put the technical difficulties screen up. I do see a signal coming in on 105 though on the even and odd transponders so it must be something else that could perhaps be causing interference.

BS .. other odd tps on 105s are OK..
Only your tp 9 or those channels in particular.. is / are the one(s) with the problem...

and it's not like TP itself is not working.. the signal from TP 9 is OK...
However they have a slate on those channels mentioned by you, saying:

"We are experiencing Tech. Difficulties.. Please stand by"

That's just their usual "tech. difficulties" message.. for many simular or other various situations...

Hmm, I was wondering about why the signal was still coming in but our market's locals are not coming in. So is the Charleston, WV DMA the only market affected then?

Yes.. - all other 105's odd or even tps.. or markets themselves - are fine.. (it's been checked and reported)

Something must have went wrong where they have their OTA antennas then or their transmission to the satellite has issues.

As i thought all along.. - it's his local market only - .. cuz Quincy WTJR (on the same tp 9) is reported to be fine.. no problem with it...

Dish 721 weird problem
