Is there any plan to put NHLAlt on 158 so it is right next to NHL Network? Sort of how the ESPN Alt's are in the ESPN range? I wouldn't think to look on channel 5449 for a game.

They do the same for BIg10 Net alts.
Big10 is 439
the alts are 5440-5448 or something like that

Since it is used so sparingly why take up a good channel #?

side note...DIrectv added their version and put it on same spot as the MLB Net alt...one channel doing double duty :)

Being in Chicago, I wasn't blacked out of the main NHL Network game last night, but if I were blacked out, I would have had no idea that there was this extra channel at 5449. With the big ten alternates, in the program description, it would say something like "College Football: Additional games can be found on channels #####" I didn't see that in the description of the NHL Network game last night. So if there is nothing pointing someone to another channel, I don't think people would even think to look that far down. After all, ESPN has how many alternates right next to ESPN2 :)
