I just got my 622 and have Dish set to come out this weekend to move my 61.5 dish to 129 so I can get my ATL HD-LIL. Scanning the forums here makes me wonder what problems I amy be asking for now. Can I leave my Dish 500 for 110/119 and leave teh 61.5 and have them add a Dish 300 or 500 for 129? Will I get the stronger signals form 61.5, or are these mutually exclusive? Is the 129 issue more in the West and North or is is all over, I am in ATL and am hoping my angle will give me a better signal, or is that a false hope?

Your 61.5 dish reset to 129 should be fine.
(it's mainly the dish 1000s that have the 129 signal problems.)

Having 61.5 along with 129 wont help, because the receivers are programmed to ignore duplicate channels, and I think it prefers 129 over 61.5

Live in the middle of a treeless, hill-less, and open area and still have probs w/ my D1000 on 129, the strongest I have got is 70-80% on a sunny day, but the first cloud or rain, it goes out just like that! I am considering going to a sole 61.5 to see if the same problem occurs there, I'll just detach 129.

So its not just you....we all have had 129 probs and still do. ;)

I have both 61.5 and 129. Initially my VIP211 receiver gave priority to 129 signal. However, Dish seems to have changed something. Now it will always use 61.5, as long as there is any signal coming from 61.5.

Its not wether its a D300, D500, or D1000, its the satellite and the tech that puts in the dish, if you have a good antenna then use that to get your hd locals and keep your dish pointed at 61.5 because its reliable where as the 129 is a lame bird.

I'll have to hook my 129 back up and see if this works for me also.

Are there any educated guesses as to the new 1000+ dishes handling 129 better due to their size? I'm going to have to get one for my Indy locals on 118.75.

I guess the real question is what is Dish expecting to do this weekend, I suspect they plan on swapping out my 500 for a 1000. I woudl prefer to keep 61.5 for now if I can in addition to 129, or maybe move the 61.5 dish to 129, I don't want them screwing with my tried and true 500 that has good 100ish signal strength. I beleive the dish I have for 61.5 is a single LNBF 500 so maybe that dead aimed at 129 will be good enough. Hard to beleive Dish has all this confusion, you would think they just got in the Sat business and they surely act liek they don't have a real plan and are flying by the seat of their pants.

you can keep the 61.5 dish and have them add a 129 single dish if you explain to the tech that you are going to be getting sky angel service soon and you want your local hd service off the 129, keep in mind that this will be 3 sat dishes.
