2021-22 NHL TV Broadcasts ???

True. At least for the time being. Apparently Disney (ESPN owner) is trying to figure out how to monetize their ESPN holding. According to the following article - ESPN garners high carriage rates from cable, Direct and DISH. But as people cut the cord, Disney has to resort to a much lower rate per user - check out this article from CNBC (I've included a few of the more salient quotes from the article).
And that is dangerous territory. I remember NBC getting the rights for the EPL and they provided access to the games through additional channels at no additional cost (of course, not on Dish :(),and then NBC decided to pull that back and put the 3rd tier games on NBC Gold for $50 a year... and you'd swear they were making people pay $20 to watch every single Liverpool or Man City game.

ESPN+ right now is stupid crazy content for its price. But if they increase the cost, people are going to get their pitchforks because they've normalized at $6 for so much content.
