So will the 211 ever get VOD? Or is that not possible due to nonstandarized hard drive sizes/

I don't have any information about it, but I doubt it will happen. Dish Network reserves a certain amount of space on the hard drives of its DVR models for VOD. Since the 211 is really not a DVR, and relies on an EHD, I don't think that VOD is going to be an option. Why would you want to give up a portion of the hard drive that you bought to Dish Network for their commercial gain? You should be able to do the Dish Online rentals if you really want to go that route.

I agree, I'd only want VOD on EHD as a user selectable option at most; if I'm buying a hard drive, I should get the full use of it for my content.
