Does anyone know where to find what the new 264 download fixed? My guide works a whole bunch better but not sure what else to check.

In addition to fixing the video preview pane in the guide,
and filling in program information much much further into
the future. There is also a new option on the screen where
the user can add OTA channels. The new option allow users
who pay DISH for their SD local channels to choose whether
they want those satellite delivered locals to appear in the
program guide under their 4-digit DISH designation, or if
they are remapped to their single or double digit regular
broadcast number.

Depends on how you set the option discussed above. Personally, I suggest you forget the OTA analog locals and just use Dish for the local feeds -- properly mapped down to where they should be. OTA digital will sometimes remap properly, and sometimes not -- but there is no EPG for the OTA digital.

For me:
1) Fixed drop of station with bogus PSIP data. It won't remap these stations correctly, but it doesn't drop them either.
2) I was getting a very loud tone (probably the SDTV raster based on frequency) when viewing the guide.
I don't use S-Video out of the 811, only DVI.

I probably will do just that... I think I'll only be watching the locals in OTA digital format.. Pretty much every station in Dallas is broadcasting in Digital. I get them all right now on a Samsung STB, I just hope I don't suffer the 49% bug.
I only ordered the Satellite locals for the other rooms with non-HD sets.

of all scams to me, but I figured there was a very very
small minority of people who lived in those areas where
OTA antennas just plain wouldn't work. I cringe when I
hear of people who can get OTA in their area, but choose
to pay an extra $5 a month for nothing.

Several reasons:
1. No HDTV feed from that station, you then need the Dish LIL for recording
2. The guide
3. You are out of the analog range and this is the only way to even get the channel

I don't think the program guide information is worth $5 a month
to me, but I hadn't considered the PVR aspect. That seems like
a pretty reasonable argument to me.
Personally I stopped watching analog stations altogether when I
got my first digtal-OTA tuner. But maybe I'm just lucky enough
to live in a market that offers all the major networks digitally.
Are there still lots of places where NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX, and PBS
aren't available digitally? Because I don't live in a top 20 television
market or anything (the lists I've seen rank us 30th), and
we've got all those plus UPN and WB available digitally.
So I'm losing nothing by dropping analog altogether.
