322 DP plus, I have two receivers for 4 rooms, the first receiver in the living room is fine, the one in the backroom has been unplugged for a year, noone ever uses it. I just plugged it in, everything went fine, ran the check switch test, all green, everything is fine, Channel 101 is just fine. Except it doesn't get all the channels. Just a bunch of home shopping ones in the 200s, and most of those just show a black screen after I tune there. The Nasa channel works. I'm thinking it doesn't work right because its missed all the software updates and whatnot. How do I fix this problem?

As for new firmware, if any is available, it should say so when you turn on the receiver, so long as it's connected to the dish and receiving a signal.
If it offers you a download, I would probably take it.
Follow on-screen messages, and plan on leaving it alone for half an hour while it does it's business.

But, I think the real problem is that its authorization has expired.
Not sure of the current situation, but one of the following should work:
- leave it on line for a few days and it'll probably recover
- call Dish and get 'em to hit you

when you call be sure to inquire as to whether you can get any credit, since you paid $60 in additional receiver fees to have it just sit there unplugged.

Dish Network will not give you credit for a receiver you CHOSE to have unplugged for a year. It was still activated and they will say that you should have called them to deactivate it while it is not in use.

. . . and besides, how do I know you didn't drive it the first week, or when I wasn't looking?
