311 Receiver Security

I have 4 311 receivers. Since these receivers do not have the capability of replacing smart cards, what will Dish be doing with this type of receiver during the present cycle they are going through in replacing the smart cards in those receivers that have replacable smart cards? Just wondering. Thanks for any info provided.

Those receivers do have the capability of replacing the smart cards. Basically the "smart card" (namely, the chip on said card) is directly wired into your current receiver. The new card's essentially bypass the on board card, so there is no need to swap out the receiver!
