If 4.2.2 is the same as the old analog receiver back in the 80's??? Or is it analog

thanks

what receiver and model will pick them up???? will all azbox do it?

thanks again

do they make a card that will get it all?? and do you guys have any recommendation???

thanks everyone

azbox picks up all the DVB out there

DVB 4:2:0 SD/HD
DVB 4:2:2 SD/HD
DVB-S2 4:2:0 SD/HD
DVB-S2 4:2:2 SD/HD

azbox can and dvb card that can do dvb-s2 + proper codecs

? decoding 4.2.2 with a PC card doesn't depend on being able to do dvb-s2. I've been doing 4.2.2 for years with my Twinhan 1020a, and it certainly can't do dvb-s2.

Will the SatHawk PVR800 do it all to??? And what would i need to get HD like a 8psk??? Cause i asked a guy about the azbox elite and he said that i needed more to get HD channels not sure i only have SD stuff

thanks guys

nope it wont do 4:2:2

azbox works just fine for all that is out there. The "guy" must be thinking of Dish Network which uses 8PSK Turbo but its all scrambled so no reason to worry about that

Ok last thing here....... Will it get the SD stuff as well???

DVB-S2 / S from the factory????

thanks guys

I got the AZBOX HD Elite Linux-Multimedia DVBS-DVBS2 BRASIL ELITE whatever that means....... I got it from the bay so you never know,,,,lol

Just hope that bcs621-2 does well here

thanks iceberg and everyone

azbox isn't flawless though - there have been a couple of feeds this past week where the azbox was having problems with 4:2:2 video. I don't know why, but apparently the answer is to upgrade to some other version that what came with my box.

I now have to learn how to upgrade my azbox because I've never had problems until the past week so I figured I didn't need to touch my firmware.

Thank goodness I had the quali-tv for those two problematic 4:2:2 feeds this week.

I'm not at all sure that different existing firmware version will help. I'm running the latest firmware , and some of the SR 13021 feeds still don't have video. I use a PCI solution for those problem feeds. My suspicion on the 4:2:2 feeds with no video is that a different encoder is being used, or some non standard option.
When the video opens up on my PC screen, it's starts as a green mask which then gradually "untiles" into the real video, if that makes any sense.

yep, same way on my TS analyzer/recorder and when I play the recorded TS file with my VLC player.

At least it doesn't affect editing/encoding to my permanent collection or to watch at my convenience.

I just thought I read somewhere that someone with a version later than my 2880 but not the newest version was not having any problems with those feeds.

I didn't find any active 13021 4.2.2 feed to check, but I've seen similar behavior to what you describe on one of the AMC3 AP feeds (11726 I think). This isn't 4.2.2, but if I view it with TSREADER, I only get a partial screen in the thumbprint, and the rest is green. If I play it with a STB like the Azbox, it kind of takes a second or two to fill up the entire screen. If I go back to TSREADER, and increase the maximum mpeg picture setting to around 30, THEN I get an entire screen for the thumbprint. This was explained to me over at satforums as being that some feeds only send partial video information with each frame, and it might take a few frames of video before the entire picture is received. With the AP feed, it took 30 frames.
The AP feed wasn't 4.2.2, plus the Azbox played it fine, but there might be something similar going on with the video in these 4.2.2 feeds, ie perhaps only partial video information (chroma?) is being sent in each frame. Perhaps the Azbox is waiting for the complete info, and doesn't display video while waiting?
Just a very off the wall guess.

Hey Iceberg do you have any problems with tps cause i miss alot of stuff cause of this i mean with the bcs621-2
