I have a new "Dish Hopper with Sling" box and two 40.0 remotes paired with it. After no issues for several days, one of them will fail to control the box any longer. The SAT lights up when pushing buttons (and all other components work fine) but the Hopper box doesn't respond, and choosing the locate remote function does not do anything.
The only solution I could find was to unpair it, both on the box and manually in the remote, and then re-pair it. It will then work againm, but then the same behavior happened with the other 40.0 remote. Both are new with new batteries.
Is this common with these remotes? What could be causing it? Could it be something in the box? Is there any better way to fix it other than unpairing and then re-pairing?
