I was wondering if it matters if you set the HD cable box to 1080i, will it effect a 720p TV. Or does it not matter. Would I get a better picture with it set (cable box) to 720P for a 720p HDTV? vs setting it to 1080i for a 720p HDTV.

i would match it to your native resolution
but why don't you try both and see?
