I'm soooooo tired of every yutz with a non-widescreen "HDTV" complaining about stretch modes, zoom, aspect ratios, etc

Guess what sparky - HDTV is natively widescreen. You bought a 4X3 because it was:

1) Cheaper (wonder why?)
2) Most programming is (sadly) 4X3.

You made a choice. So, stop whining about how crappy non-OAR HDTV looks, or how you get black bars, or whatever.

</rant> :D

good one... i just had a customer today who bought a mitsubishi HDTV? 4x3 and even after i explained to him the type of reception would no be the same as the demo plasma hdtv he had seen at the store he complained very loudly about the quality and the fact that i should raise the dish higher on his roof? to increase his signal quality. daah!

maybe you can convince him that for a fee you can hardwire the dish directly to the satellite for better reception...lol

:haha :yikes :dev :neener
