5 lnb Install

Hello everyone and thanks for this forum.The installer is coming 5-11-07 to replace my 3 lnb dish. My zip is 30215. I have a narrow clear view of the southern sky thru some trees. The 3 lnb works great. How much different is the 5 lnb azimuth? My friend tried to upgrade and they said his trees blocked the reception even though he had directv for years. Thanks for any advice.

I guess it depends upon how far north in the US you are. I just had this plast weekend my 3-lbn upgraded tot he 5-lbn with no problem. In oklahoma the installer said it's about a 45 degree angle.

The 5 lnb aims at the 101 sat, the 3 lnb aims at the 110, so the elevation is different. The actual viewing area is nearly the same. The 5 lnb needs to see the 99 sat which is slightly east of 101. If your los for the 3 lnb is okay, it SHOULD be okay for the 5 lnb.
