I went ahead and got the 54" V10 Panny and so far love it.

The only question I have is should I calibrate the TV? If so, should I do it manually, which I'm looking at because it's cheaper, or should I have it professionally done?

Professionally done is always the best. You can get a pretty decent picture using THX mode or using a calibration disc and tweaking the Cinema mode.

Calibration

Professional calibration usually runs anywhere from $300 - $600 for a basic calibration. It could be more, depending on what your HDTV needs. You can go to www.amzon.com and purchase a calibration disc, such as the DVE disc. They usually run $15 - $30, depending on which one you want. And, yes, calibration is a necessity ! :)

Lion Av did my 2008 85U Panny, and it was worth it. THX mode is nice, but the calibration really got rid of some red issues I had.

The V10 is a great tv, and you can get it looking pretty nice with the Spears and Munsil Blu-ray.
