I have a 6000 receiver with a 8psk (this is the only receiver I have). Just bought a dish 1000 to get the Voom HD. I know I am getting strong signal on the 129 because I peaked it by itself. I reconnect everything per instructions. Connect it into my 6000, and it shows up as a sw64, but only detects the 119 and 110.

I also have tried the same setup with a dishpro adapter. When I do a check switch, it detects the dish as a 500 twin, and only see the 119 and 110.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the check switch screen, do you have "Super Dish 3 Sat" box checked? If not, check that box and then do a check switch again. And according to Dish documentation, you will need the legacy adaptor unless you also have a DP or DPP receiver connected to the Dish1000.

OK, with the DishPro Adapter hooked up, and the SuperDish '3 Sat' check box checked, it tells me I have an unknown swith and only detects the 119. Status of 'No switch box detected'.

Without the DishPro Adapter hooked up, and the SuperDish '3 sat' check box checked, it tells me I have a SW64 switch and still only detects the 119 and 110. Status of 'Satellite reception verified'.

I don't believe everything I read, but I did read a post saying that you may not need a DishPro Adapter with an 8psk. I am trying both ways.

If you are not getting 129 at all I don't understand why you think you are getting a strong signal from 129?

Is the lnb output from 129 connected to the input input on the 110/119 DPP+ lnb?

To point a dish100 make sure mast is plumb,
cover the 110 & 129 eye with tinfoil,
set your skew,
peak the dish for 119 & then take off the foil.
Run check switch.

You may only be hitting the 110 & 119 sats with the 129 &119 lnb's that is why you cover 110 &129 lnb's with foil so you are sure the 119 lnb
is "seeing" the 119 sat.

Do not check the surpe dish box, that is for a "super dish" which receives sat locations 105/110/119 OR 110/119/121

not the same thing as a dish 1000

On my 6000, I had to check the super dish box in order to see all four sats 110/119/129/61.5 using a Dish1000 and DPP44.

I plugged a cable from the 129 lnb directly into the receiver. It was identified properly as 129 on the receiver and I was getting great signal from it.

Then, I removed the cable fromt the receiver and plugged it into the 'lnb in' port of the switch that has the 119/110 lnbs. Connect the cable from that into the receiver. I am seeing great signal from 119 and 110.

This is the same mast I have been using for years with a Dish 500. I am confident that the mast is plum and the dish is pointed correctly.

Yes, my software version is 829.

Thanks for that link. I did several searches before posting, don't know how I missed that. Unless someone gives me a better suggestion, I am going to get a dpp44.

Instead of buying and installing a DPP44 (about $169), you may want to put that money toward a new MPEG4 receiver which will work great with your existing wiring, and set you up for all the new HD programming. You can buy a VIP211 for $369 and get $75 back for trading in your 6000. No shipping charges, either. Just a thought!

The only reason I bought and installed a DPP44 when I did my Dish1000 install was to support 4 satellites to my 3 receiver locations (and ability to run dual tuner receivers off single coax feeds at each receiver location using separators).
