How will things work when both 61.5 and 129 are running?

Which sat will the channels that are on both pull from?

I know this has been discussed before but don't remember what the answer is or if it has changed.

I believe the sat with the stronger signal. Iowa is somewhat of a middle ground (93 West), but you're somewhat closer to 61.5. 61.5 does have a stronger signal in general, too.

I don't think this is the case. I did read a thread where is was said that signal level plays no role in the satellite used.

On a dish 1000.2 sat dish and a side sat for 61.5 plugged into the port on the lnb , you get the 129 sat almost every time before it will ever go to 61.5 . Even when the 129 sat sucks for signal strength. I use aluminum foil over the 129 lnb and did a check switch to eliminate the 129 sat from the matrix so it only uses 61.5.

noob here not following the discussion

I live in wisconsin. I have a single dish pointed to 110, 118, 119, and 129. I am unable to get local hd (milwaukee) because it is on 61.5. So as they are moving things around what sats should i be pointing to and am i going to need newer equipment to continue to get the stations i want (i need 118 to get german channels).

Purchase a Dish 300 or dish 500 (with I adapter) off ebay and put the 129 lnb off your Dish 1000+ on the Dish 300/500 and point it at 61.5, run check switch and you have 61.5, 110, 118 and 119.
