61.5 Replacement

Is Dish still planning on replacing the current 61.5 bird?

There are two sats at 61.5 - E3 and E12. I would think that E* will be replacing E3 sooner rather than later. Perhaps by E6 at 72. E3 has three TP's out and E* could sure use them.

I thought 61.5 had Echostar 3 and Rainbow 1

Wouldn't rainbow 1 be older then E*3 ?
Since Voom had that orbital slot.
Or did Dishnetwork just move an old satellite to that location?

Wow I didn't know E* was using the 61.5 that long. They better get a new one up there.

I'd think 15 years or so is not unreasonable to expect out of a satellite. That'll be about the age when replaced.

E1 has been active since late 1995

E5 has been active since Sept 99...maybe thats why its a POS
