622 and aspect ratios features

I may purchase a commercial/professional model plasma (Panasonic TH-42PH9UK) that lacks the ability to change aspect ratios for HD content. How capable is the 622 with aspect ratios for HD? What modes does it offer? Can it stretch a 4:3 HD image to fill the screen? Thanks. :)

Yeah, it can, but I think stretching looks like crap. I prefer to watch with black or grey bars on the side

For most SD content, I agree with you. But I use partial zoom on some widescreen SD programs (Battlestar Gallactica is one) and it doesn't look too bad/ It's not HD, but it's also not distorted. Circle are round and people aren't fat.
