622 - Any problems if powered off a lot?

Mission Accomplished!

The 622 is now in the basement, on a shelf that I hung just under the joists.

No noise at all in the living room, ah, what a relief.

Funny thing though, the 622 in the basement now seems much quieter than it did in my living room. Where I could hear the hard disk whine from 18-20' away upstairs, I have to get very close to the unit to hear it downstairs. The acoustics are different, as the downstairs shelf has no reflective surfaces near it.

It will be interesting to observe how the temperature monitor readings change over time.

Turns out that it was only quieter because it was running some kind of diagnostic when I listened the first time. When I went back down, I could easily hear it from over 15' away.

But there is blissful silence upstairs.

Good deal.

Did you use componet cables through the floor?

I have both component and HDMI through the floor. Found a location where I was able to keep the distance down to 15'. I don't think my wife will find the new holes along the baseboard! She wasn't home when I drilled them.
