622 in recovery mode

I have a 622 L617. It started rebooting continously. I called tech support and they said it's suppose to do that, it's in recovery mode. Has anyone ever been successful in coming out of recovery mode?

Recovery mode is evil. I'm 98% sure you're going to need a replacement receiver. I've never had one come out of boot recovery. Did it get unplugged while downloading software?

Power was coming through UPS so it should be fine. It recorded 16 min of Amazing Race OTA then several 2-3 min blocks. I don't know what caused it.

sounds like someone didnt want to troubleshoot the issue.
unplug it for several minutes.
if it continues to do this, call dish again.

Ive seen 522's and 625 receivers take about 1 hrs to come out of recovery mode. is the progress bar stuck on the first dot , increment 1 or 2 then start over? let it set there for a while and see what happens

I called and a new one will be here tomorrow. I never saw a progress bar, only a couple of white flashes on the screen, and the TV1 light continously blinking / flashing (faster than 1 / sec).
