625 loses picture

Hello all,

I'll be watching tv, no patricular channel when all of the sudden the picture goes out and a box pops up that says something like "error 004 change channels or do a hard reset" (it doesnt say hard reset, but thats what they want you to do). If all I do is move one channel up or down and go right back to the channel I was watching, everything will be fine. For days. Then it will happen again. Signal strength is 60-70 and it can happen either during the day or nite. Ideas?

Your hard drive is going out on the reciever. Just did an exchange on a reciever the other day for the same problem

Thanks, not what I wanted to hear (tons of my sons shows on the dvr). No way to copy all his cartoons, is there?

Get yourself a dvd recorder and blank dvd's for it.

it's not hard drive failure. you need to do a checkswitch

menu 6,1,1, then check switch, then test

Did the check switch, everything is fine. Did it on all my receivers, all came up good. What causes the need for a check switch?
