Congrats to all those folks who now get their locals from the new locations.

Remember however that while these changes were made today, they won't be officially in DISH's computers until tomorrow, so for anyone who needs a dish upgrade you should wait until tomorrow to call in, as today they can not make changes since the changes are not in their computer systems.

Hope that prevents some frustration for some members.

edit: I did some research and found that the parent company of TWC, Weather Companies, changed their name from Weather Channel Companies last October.

I'm in the (Mkt:Biloxi, MS) with a DISH 1000 dish, will DISH change it out without a service charge? Are there disadvantages to EA versus WA? Thanks for the information.

Even if you keep WA and add a side dish for 61.5, the D1000 would either need a DP44 switch or an upgrade to a D1000.2 WA plus a DP Dual pointed at 61.5 or a D1000.2 EA.

I opted for a WA 1000.2 with a DP dual on my old D500 pointed at 61.5, picture looks good.

I tried to talk the D1000.2 installer into leaving it connected and installing a DP dual when the Hopper was installed, but he cut the cable, so as soon as the uplink was announced, I had them come back and replace the lnb with a DP dual and re-run the cable to the D1000.2 WA dish.

I honestly can't tell any difference at all.We have both arcs,sd looks like crap in mpeg2 and mpeg4.

Yup that's why all the cross overs with Al Roker, and when Al's off filled in by weather channel folks instead of WNBC like they used to do and when a major weather event happens NBC goes to weather channel staff for updates.
