Just got a note from one of my contacts from Dish that the 811 will be getting new software within 48 hours. (And some are pushing for it to go out after 5pm today)

No word on what it fixes.

Is being connected to a phone line a requirement to get the fix?

most are defaulted to this setting

Cool, it was already setup like that.

Software Version: P263LADD-N
Bootstrap Version: 1010LADD

I'll check back later to see if this changes.
 
Thanks for the news, Scott. I hope this bug fix has the dark video problem resolved, but earlier reports suggest that will come later in March. A 48 hour program guide and OTA fixes would be a good start.

As I said some were pushing for it to go out tonight, however it looks like it has not made it (yet)

Getting the software to the uplink requires a few steps and its not as easy as giving the guys at the uplink a floppy disc to put up the new software.

We should definately see this software by the end of the week.

Remember when your not using your 811 please power it off so that the 811 can tune to the Software Update frequency and download the new software when its available. :)
 
Thanks for the update. I just checked and no update yet here in the Seattle area.

I have changed the software update to ask me before downloading.

The 811 is turned off.

So once the downloads are pused out will I just get a prompt telling
me a new update needs to down load?
