Hi there!

I have just got my 8300HD box, but cannot get the TV to recognize it as a HDMI source.
I can plug in the component cables and it works just fine, however the TV will not let my select HDMI as an input, when I set up the 8300HD for just HDMI.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

I don't know if it is related, but in this area the 8300HD enforces HDCP pretty strictly. Do you know if you TV supports HDCP? Here, if the HDCP is present but fails to negotiate, I get a HUGE black screen covering the entire display with a message to switch to component. I've never plugged it into a TV without HDCP, though.

Did you call Time Warner, btw?

Best of luck!

Same exact issues here as Hall. Mine might be worse as I would either get the HDCP error or a static screen requiring a restart of the 8300. I finally gave in because it was not even the same process everytime to make it work right and my wife was really losing her patience with "my" setup ;) Back to componant we went ;/
