Do I have to do anything to turn on the 922 screen saver? I was watching a recording, paused and walked away. When I came back an hour later it was still paused without a screen saver.

The default (and minimum time) for the inactivity time out is four hours. If you would have waited 3 more hours the screen saver would have been on.

If you are going to walk away for that long and you are concerned (I'm assuming you must have an older TV that is subject to burn-in/image retention) then why not hit the off button on the TV? For any modern TV (even plasma) burn in is not an issue unless you are in torch mode and have static images for very very long periods of time.
