from MLB:
Anaheim @ Oakland
In what has shaped up to be the tightest division race of
2004, the Angels and A's meet in a three-game series that
could determine this year's AL West champ. Oakland has
reached the postseason four straight years and can equal
its franchise record (1971-75) with a fifth straight trip.

Atlanta @ Chicago
A sneak preview of the NLDS? Atlanta travels to Chicago for
the first time in 2004 when the two clubs close out the
regular season this weekend. The Cubs and Braves last met in
April, when the Cubbies took two of three games from the
NL East champs. Chicago is locked in a tight race with
San Francisco, Houston and San Diego for the NL Wild Card
spot, and looks to secure back-to-back playoff appearances
for the first time since the 1907 and 1908 seasons.

San Francisco @ Los Angeles
From Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World" in 1951
to the current race for the NL West crown, the Giants and
Dodgers have formed one of sports' greatest rivalries. The
two old foes square off this weekend in a huge three-game
series that could determine both the NL West champ and the
NL Wild Card winner. In addition to the playoff chase,
Adrian Beltre and Barry Bonds will be battling it out for
the 2004 home run crown.
