A nice big dish.....

Ok here's what I want for my birthday...or Christmas...or both.
I ran in to this guy in San Jose, Costa Rica in Dec 2008 and we started talking about his dish. He was getting US TV at the time on it. He was the owner of the little hotel we were staying at.

What do you think this is, maybe 16' ?

I would say at least 16'. Don't know what it is but I want one!

It must be an az/el mount, if polar mount it would hit the ground when moving to the E or W limits... Good thing they don't get snow in Costa Rica . By the ribs I would think 16' if the fellow in the image is 6' tall.

As I recall it had a sort of windmill tower that it sat on. It was a real ugly weld-to thing.
You are right, it did not track.
