ok so I have dish network two room dvr model 625

I switched a cable on the splitter in my basement so I could move the tv to put in flooring. once I hooked the tv back up in another room It just tries to acquire a signal but to no avail.

I later hooked it back up the way it was (or at least im about 99% sure) and still no signal.

ive tried resetting it and what not, talked to dish and I know the connections to the dvr box are right so it must be the connection from the splitter

Id like to fix this myself but I know very little about satellite tv.

any suggestion would be helpful thank you

Satellite receivers output 18volts to power the LNB at the dish. What you are calling a splitter is probably a diplexer it passes voltage on one side and blocks it on the other. You probably shorted the receiver by connecting it to the wrong side. If you are lucky unplugging the receiver will reset the power supply. Call DISH for a service call if you don't know what you are doing.
