I have a Dish 322 that I bought a few years back and never activated because my new apartment did not have a south facing balcony so I was forced to goto cable. I now want to activate the box as a new customer to use during tailgating. Will dish have a problem activating this box. I read some on here that people were having mixed results, but that was way back in '04. Does anyone think that I will have any problems today? Also will they make me sign a contract if I am providing all of my own equipment? Thanks guys...

Just call Dish and activate it. You should have no problems. You won't have any contract, but you wont get any deals either.
Ok thanks for the quick response, I wasn't sure if they were still just activating these for lease customers. Which seemed to be the case in '04. Also I'm sure the software is quite a bit out of date. To get it updated all I have to do is activate it then power it off overnight, correct?
When you hook it up run a check switch. After that it will download all it needs. Then call and activate.
