I think it's news (the Schefter part) since Schefter Mort and the other analysts have a bit of a competition about who breaks what, and how some things get reported. ESPN just stacking the deck a bit now. If you're not into that stuff, then I can see it being a non-issue. Pretty big news for ESPN imo, and a bit of a blow to the NFLN to lose Schefter.

I agree it IS news....but unless you are paying their paychecks....in the grand scheme of things(as far as us fans getting info or rumors)....it means nothing to us. IT will not stop us from getting our info from various sources, whether it is ESPN, FOXSPORTS, Yahoo Sports or NFLN.

I agree. I find it easier to get news in general though from shadier sources, so you get rumor and stuff first before the bigger names have enough to actually run with it. That's why I read stuff like profootballtalk and rarely go to ESPN other than to confirm big stories or I am linked to there from PFT or one of my RSS feeds on my Google homepage. Any 'big' news ESPN just sends to my Blackberry anyways /shrug. They're not always right, nobody is, but you hear about whispers and rumors long before an organization like ESPN can report on it usually.
