I was wanting to purchase the OTA adapter for hooking my OTA antenna into my hopper 3. I have read reviews on this adapter and some says it gets very hot and some were afraid to keep it hooked up.. Has anyone in the satellite guy community experienced this problem with this adapter. thanks

The latest dual tuner adapter does not run hot. There was a previous model manufactured by Hauppauge that some people had overheating issues with. As long as you buy the latest model, you should be fine.

It's the white one at the bottom of this page: Products | AirTV

I bought the AirTV ota dual adapter for my Wally. At first, it worked great. It always ran hot. When it started pixelating and losing sound, I called AirTV. They totally denied any connection to DISH and said they didn't warranty them to run on DISH receivers. So, since most everyone else here had good luck with them, I bought another.

At first, the new one ran great, although hot. Then, after a couple of weeks it started doing the same as the other. I live on flat coastal ground and station towers are 18 miles away. I have a Channel Master 2018 antenna. Two stations have maximum signals, two have mediocre signals. When the tuners were new, all stations pegged out at 100%.

Not saying to not buy the tuner, just relaying my experience with it.

I have been running the AirTV OTA tuner on my H3 for months, never had a problem with it at all.

Runs cool, none of the problems with the old Hauppauge tuner.

WHOA!!!! When you say Airplay one, do you mean the AirTv single tuner? It will not work at all. You need the AirTv duo tuner.

I thought that's what he meant too at first. I gather there is an Apple product called Airplay 1 (and now 2 as well). I have no clue what those are, but I doubt they are USB tuners.
