I want to purchase a HD DVR reciecer and add it to my account and put it in a different house. If my account does not have hd on it, is this possible? How would I go about completing this. The house I want to put it in is already set up satellite wise, just needs a receiver. Please help me.

legally you are not allowed to have 2 receivers at different locations. This is called "account splitting" and is frowned upon (per the terms of the dish agreement)

Ok, so let's assume no one has ever done anything illegal before and that I miss typed that and that I want to put one in my shed that is too far to run a cable from the house...

Let's also assume you won't eventually get called by the Dish Audit team and when you can't access both receivers in a reasonable amount of time they will shut you down. :D

Audit will shut the questionable receiver off if you have to go outside in order to get the info. How far a distance are we talking about? RG-6 or RG-11 cable can carry the signal a pretty good distance.

Simple call up Dish customer service and explain what you want to do and I'm sure they will help you.
