hey everyone,

i need to know what i have to do in order to add a 5th room to a 4 room installation. i have a 3-lnb dish, that has 4 cables running from it. for the 5th room, would i have to run another cable from the dish? or is it as simple as using a splitter, getting a box/card, and activating it?

thanks!

You will need to install a multiswitch (either 4x8 or 6x8). The Triple Sat dish only has 4 outputs, which will be the inputs on the multiswitch.

You can not use a splitter/diplexer on the sat in signals.

oh i see. i'm not really familiar with a multiswitch, so does that have to be installed right by the dish, or is it something i could inside the house?

you can install it wherever you have access to all 4 lines coming from the dish, preferably at or after the grounding location.
