$4.99 is for each additional satellite receiver. If you do not connect your phone line to the dual tuner receivers that have two tv outputs such as the 322, 522, 622, 625 then they will charge you a $4.99 additonal outlet fee (sometimes they call this a lease fee for additional receivers).

So this is a regular charge then right? If no phone line where to be connected then the bill would be more right? Thanks for the quick response.:up

Or is this charge not necessary.

Yes, the $5 is for your additional receiver. If your phone lines were not connected, you'd be seeing an additional $10 as well ($5 for each dual-tuner receiver) for additional outlet fees.

You will only get a $5 discount for plugging the phone line in on the second tuner of a dual tuner satellite receiver with two tv outputs.

Here is an example of how you will be charged with a 322/522/622/625/etc ....

Two 322 recdeivers without phoneline plugged in ....

1st 322 - Tuner 1 - no fee as it is treated the same as one receiver that someone has on their account. Tuner 2 - $4.99 additional outlet fee

2nd 322 - Tuner 1 - $4.99 additional outlet fee or lease fee. Tuner 2 - $4.99 additional outlet fee.

Two 322 receivers with the phoneline plugged in ....

1st 322 - Tuner 1 - no fee as it is treated the same as one receiver that someone has on their account. Tuner 2 - $4.99 additional outlet fee is WAIVED BECAUSE PHONELINE IS PLUGGED IN

2nd 322 - Tuner 1 - $4.99 additional outlet fee or lease fee. Tuner 2 - $4.99 additional outlet fee is WAIVED BECAUSE PHONELINE IS PLUGGED IN.

Close but not quite right

It's $5 not $4.99 and it's called PROGRAMING ACCESS FEE
2nd 322 - Tuner 1 - $4.99 It's $5 not $4.99additional outlet fee or lease fee. Tuner 2 - $4.99 additional outlet fee. Again it's $5 programing access fee

The $4.99 additional receiver fee was increased to $5 quite awhile back so that it was the same as the $5 lease fee (which was always $5 until they raised that to $6 for the VIP receivers)

Dang, they seem to change this stuff all the time, hard to keep up with all that stuff, pretty dang close though.
